The teachers, especially those working in the Special Education department, are absolutely wonderful. Communication is great and parent involvement is encouraged.

Parents with children in delicate situations such as foster care or children that are part of child service investigations beware, there is no handle with care for the children that need it the way that there is supposed to be. The office staff is incredibly hostile as well during conversations relating to just about anything and they will deny "proof" that they request and withhold transfer abilities from biological parents. And if you're a step in parent best to avoid being the one to handle any school related issues because you will be met with childish responses and rude remarks. I also had the displeasure of realizing that they turn a blind eye to teachers being unnecessarily verbally hostile towards children that aren't they're "favored" ones. I've been appalled at every encounter that I've had the misfortune of having with the staff here.

My children's educational experience has been amazing at Jefferson. If you address a problem to a teacher regarding your child's performance they will help you understand what areas need work. My only issue was when I reported a bully situation with the office, I was told my child needs to tell an adult and there was nothing that could be done. I am an adult and my child felt comfortable with telling me. I am my child's advocate. Besides that situation I give Jefferson a great rating.

Teachers and staff are incredible! They take the time with the children and generally care. My daughter loves it here as do I. I would highly recommend Lincoln-Erdman

When we first moved here I was worried because of bad reviews on this school, I even tried to get my kids switched to another school but after three years and three kids having went, I am glad I stuck with them. I have enjoyed having my kids attend the Pigeon River school. They are a really good school,and the staff is amazing.

We have two kids at Lake Country Academy and so the school has exceeded our expectations. Both our kids do reading and math at higher levels than the benchmark for their age. The school has a focus on academics and virtues. At the lower grades, kids learn with pen and paper. They learn to write in cursive. They read stories while having to turn the page. They have a classical education where one can look up the curriculum they use. Teachers and administration (each) send home weekly newsletters letting us know what the kids are learning and an upcoming dates we need to be aware of. Parents are required to sign the kids assignment notebooks every night and ensure our kids do their daily homework. Parents are also expected to volunteer at the school. It is a public charter so their is no cost, but parents are encouraged/expected to be engaged.The School has concerts and sports in the higher grades. One item that is interesting is that we were told the school has the largest elementary chess team in the state. The school also stops every month to review virtues such as "citizenship, teamwork, and humility" as it wraps its focus on reading/math and binds it in morality. All I can say is that my kids look forward to start of the school year and on the whole our interactions with the school have been incredibly positive. I didn't rank social-emotional support as high as frankly, I haven't ran across a need for it. My kids seem well adjusted, but I do believe the school uniforms, focus on pen/paper and not electrics as well as having cell phones banned during the school day are key factors why my kids don't seem an anxious as other kids their age. This is a school that believes learning takes place when using pencil and paper and not having kids sit on electronics all day (kids do have access to computers, but it feels much more controlled than the main district).In short a good classical education at no cost.

They do an awesome job with the younger kids but do not address bullying in the upper grades.
