I'm trying to transfer my student out, he had problems on the bus with bullying from this brother and sister and now this year someone took busing out of his IEP. I'm having a lot of difficulty even trying to get him back on the bus when he shouldn't have been taken off in the first place they lack

Posted by a community member on 8/29/2025Garland is an absolutely amazing school. We live in a nearby suburb but wanted our child in a more diverse environment. We chose to apply for open enrollment. I am so glad we did. The classrooms are nurturing, have high academic rigor, and behavioral accountability. My child has so many friends, LOV
Posted by a parent on 5/24/2022TERRIBLE. I have been to this school a number of time this school year already and there has been little to no resolutions to the issues my child has been experiencing. I'm THISCLOSE to removing my child from this school. In general, MPS is not a great school district. This is the first district sch
Posted by a parent on 12/10/2019My husband and I couldn't be happier with this school! Garland has a community feel to it where everyone respects each other. Very much a family feel! I feel this is the best school MPS has! The older kids interact very well with the younger kids and almost treat them as their younger siblings. Ever

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile I'm not typically a fan of MPS, Cooper is an exceptional school with a dedicated staff that truly cares about its students. My daughter has had three incredible teachers during her time there, each contributing to her academic progress and personal growth. Of all the schools she's attended, Cooper has best met her needs and has consistently worked with me to support her academic development.Parent Review1y ago - Lowell International Elementary

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principle and teachers allow students to be bullied there is nothing in place to keep your child safe, they do not call parents they lie to the police we send there isn't one protecting your child! Students have dropped out of this school because of it, they cover their teachers that put hands on the students, I do not recommend this school at all!Parent Review10mo ago - IDEAL School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly the human rights are unfathomably the worst in the district. I got yelled at just for being in line. I was removed from the library for "keeping me away from a group that has negative influences". I see the picture, but honestly that was just a bit too far. In my first year I missed a lot of classes to go to the SPED room because I was considered "inconveniently sped and mentally r*******" This likely caused me to go to the asylum twice, that was in 7th grade. That year. I was the only person to be in before/after school care, other than people in a far younger age group (rarely other middle schoolers come). Eighth grade came, and it's ironic I got criticised for dancing like Michael Jackson because of the 1st Amendment. I would get yelled at just for saying that I hate this school. I was forced to do ALEKs and ST Math without help because it was astronomically difficult. If you are afraid of North Korea, you should be afraid of this school.Other Review7mo ago
