My child has ADHD and obviously does not fit into the box of school expectations. Despite all my efforts to work hard with staff members, I have only had the privilege to work with ONE teacher who actually tries to understand my child rather than punish him for his quirks. Last year my son went into the restroom stimming vocally. He was asked to leave the bathroom and wait as it is distracting to other children in the rest room...When he finally was able to go he was no longer able to hold it and had an accident on his way. He ended up wetting his pants and became extremely embarrassed. When I brought this concern to the principle and the teacher the teachers response was how could he be embarrassed if no one saw? The teacher was not held accountable during that meeting and rather the principle try to educate her staff member on this she tried to speak highly of her instead. This teacher made my son's life unnecessarily hard for an entire year. Now here we are again. No longer involved in this teachers classroom but has the audacity to tell my son to drink water the proper way as he should know the school rules... I decided to call and ask what the policy was regarding the proper way to drink water, and was laughed at and said well there isn't. So I asked why my son is being told this then & the response was I'll look into it... just like they did when he was punished for having a vocal stim, right? This school will NOT take accountability for the teachers that treat your child this way. Instead they just turn their heads & let the behavior continue... ironic... huh?Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Mount Zion Christian School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter started 1st grade this year and this is an absolutely wonderful school. Safe environment, very small class sizes (10 students), challenging curriculum, and teaches about the bible and the importance of God in our lives. Worth every penny of money I spent.Parent Review15y ago2 Reviews - St Francis De Sales School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. Francis de Sales School has provided all 4 of my children with a beyond excellent academic, spiritual, and emotional education. My children who are now 20, 18, 16, and 14 are extremely well rounded good high school and college students. I receive complements all the time for my children's respectful behavior. The expression it takes a village to raise a child is so true. St. Francis de Sales is the reason I receive these compliments. It has a community of teachers, and staff that truly care about and support the students. Every person in the building would do anything they possibly could to help and care for the students. They set high expectations and support the students efficiently to achieve them. With small class sizes my children were seen and heard. The teachers put in countless hours to prepare and structure creative engaging and academically age appropriate lessons for their individual needs. They worry about students specific needs and plan with the parents and other teachers to make sure they are meeting those needs. All my children are different and have different interests . St. Francis de Sales provides a wide variety activities such as basketball, volleyball, musicals, Swing Choir, 5K runs, Mary's Fiat, Art and Lego clubs, Choir of Angels, Battle of the Books, and countless academic fieldtrips to engage all my children's interests. We were always busy and involved. They use Jesus as an example of how to act and treat other giving my children a solid foundation rooted in good moral values. My children are all outstanding public speakers having to lead masses. I loved that St. Francis has buddy classes where the older students act as role models for the younger children. My children loved their buddies then grew older and had to be the role models for the younger students demonstrating their understanding of what it means to be a good leader and act like Jesus. The families are invested in the school and give their time, talents, and efforts so generously. This is where St. Francis de Sales school shines brighter from other schools. The students see the relationships and communication between home and school. They learn the dedication and commitment it takes to create successful outcomes. Like the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit became one St. Francis de Sales strives to achieve one message that education, faith, and family are really all one and the same. I would highly recommend St. Francis de Sales to anyone with children.Parent Review2w ago16 Reviews - First Lutheran School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur school has a clear mission of providing a quality education and a strong Christian foundation through God's word. We are not just a school, but a family that cares for each student. We could not think of a more supportive, loving environment for our children. And their academics are amazing, because it is a multi-grade classroom set-up, which internationally is recognized as producing top reading scores. We are currently fundraising to keep up with technological advancements by purchasing chromebooks for each student. The teachers and staff continually are adapting to higher education standards, while remaining true to a solid Christian foundation. We are truly blessed by having this educational opportunity in our community!Parent Review12y ago3 Reviews
