West De Pere Intermediate School

Every teacher and staff member at the school has been so accommodating ! My son needed speech therapy and they truly worked with him until there was no speech issue whatsoever .

The ladies at the front desk are awful to deal with. They are rude and patronizing. I pulled my student from this school for many reasons. They are one of them. I do not recommend this school if you have a medically fragile or anxious child. They do not accommodate parents or students for any reason whatsoever. The bus/pick up/parking situation is laughable as well with no solution ever considered.

I love this school, the setup of the school is fantastic. Staff is friendly and understanding. My son's first grade teacher has done wonderful things to help my child learn. His reading and math has improved a lot! Very happy with this school!

My two children with IEPs are well served at Westwood. The school is reasonably diverse with top notch academics. They have a great athletic department (particularly the wrestling and baseball teams), with solid extra curricular offerings (we enjoy Cub Scouts). The PTO is active and positive. My favorite offering is a new 4K wrap around program! My youngest child enjoys the structure for half the day, and play the other half. Truly I only have wonderful things to say about Westwood, I highly recommend. I see why the housing market in West De Pere is higher valued!

My son has been attending Hemlock since he was in kindergarten, and he is now in second grade. When he started school, he wasn’t doing well behaviorally. He struggles with ADHD, and it affects his behavior at school and his ability to learn. We had him formally evaluated and placed on an IEP. The school psychologist, who we initially worked with, was not as helpful - she thought the idea of assigning an aide to my son was “icky” (her word), and was resistant to placing him on the IEP. By first grade, it was obvious to everyone that worked directly with my son that an IEP was needed, and that’s when the paperwork was finally put through on the school’s end. But even before the IEP, there were many staff members who were wonderful in working with my son. The vice principal, the school counselors, and my son’s teachers were all great, and wanted to see my son succeed. I had frequent contact with his teachers, and got progress reports from them regularly. Since starting on the IEP (and getting additional support outside of school), my son has done incredibly well at Hemlock. The office staff all know him by name, as do most of the other support staff. The Special Ed teachers we’ve worked with have been great as well (Mr. Olks especially!), and have developed connections to my son that really help him feel like he can succeed in spite of his struggles. And even though he was getting disciplined a lot in first grade (for valid reasons), the staff never seems to hold that against him, and they encourage him and want to see him do well. Overall we’ve had a great experience at Hemlock Creek!

Our Lady of Lourdes is an exciting atmosphere unlike any other, where a close community of students, parents and faculty create a desire to achieve excellence in education, faith and friendships to in turn help build a strong foundation for a successful future. We couldn’t imagine our children anywhere else and enjoying watching them thrive at OLOL!
