Posted by a parent on 10/23/2018I am decidedly underwhelmed. The music programs are great (yay, Mr. Burns!), and my kid had a great year in social studies and ELA... Maths and science was an absolute horror show thanks to one 6th grade teacher. I'll be complaining to the superintendent.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSend your child here if you are ok with them being assaulted by another child and them doing the bare minimum to correct the situation and they won't call you either. Your child will come home and tell you about being stabbed in the arm by another child and all they did was send him to the nurse. Also they will just move the child from the table instead of having that child sent home for their behavior. The entire staff, from the office to the pick up/drop off staff to teachers and librarians, everyone is warm and welcoming, and encouraging to all the students. They tell them how glad they are to have them there today. They encourage the students, kindness and respect! The PTA is very active, organizing amazing inclusive events. The community engagement is second to none. Evergreen truly does build a community around their school. From parents, to teachers and administrators. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is our experience with this school that they will toss out any neurodivergent learner they have in their care. The leadership at the school is cold and uncaring, and it shows in entire staff. The entire time our little one attended this school, it felt as though they were looking for ways to get our little out of there as fast as possible. The office staff is rude and impatient, the teachers are overwhelmed, disorganized and have little support. The administrators are more concerned with their image than the actual students attending the school. This is the the highest rated and highest funded elementary school in the entire district. But, I question if it is only this way because they remove any special needs or neurodivergent learners from their school. The worst part is the district supports and encourages it!! After speaking with several other parents in the district, it seems that our experience is the norm. All the funding that goes to the school should be shared with the other elementary schools in the district that actually support learners of all capabilities!
