Impact Public Schools

Both of my girls love Lister! They love their teachers, they love the friends they have made and they seem comfortable in their environment. They learn a lot and a lot of the teachers are great at engaging their students and getting them to LOVE learning! However, as a parent I am disappointed with the lack of communication. There have been several incidents where Lister was on lockdown and parents were not notified. There was another incident where my daughter nearly walked off campus with a friend when she was supposed to be picked up by her father or myself. Other parents have complained that Lister sends their child off with their day care provider when they were supposed to be picked up by their parents. It seems too easy for our children to be put in danger at this school. The staff needs to work harder in ensuring students safety and communicating with parents. I understand there is a language barrier with some parents, but that's not excuse to not keep them informed of situations that are potentially dangerous.

My son attended here for half of his 2nd grade school year then I pulled him after he had been bullied for over a week and the staff did not tell me. I informed them of what was happening but my son was too scared to be honest to the counselor. His teacher was kind and put in a lot of effort with him but the lack of awareness and parent communication from the rest of the staff left my son at risk of physical harm.

Great teachers amaizing staff. Overall give this school a 5 out of 5. My daughters are happy girls at this school and I am grateful for the atmosphere it has everyone is really great. Their dual language program is the best for my kids learning abilities.

My girls (K and 3rd) came home DAILY with stories of bullying and teasing. It got so bad that the youngest developed nightmares and would wake up screaming, "I don't want to go back! Don't make me go back". The teachers and staff are wonderful and seem to want the best for the kids, but the learning environment led me to pulling my kids out of the classroom and enrolling them in an online school.

The teachers are good. Unfortunately the administration not so good district leadership is just as bad.

Concering 1st Grade.Learning: Report cards are based off digital scores, and students are hardly not monitored/left alone when using i-Ready computers. I-Ready is recommended for 13yrs+, however is given to children as young as 5 years old, and use this as a crutch to distract children during critical engagement time.Teaching: Teachers spend most time on computer, data "mining", and meeting with each other, rather than engaging with students.Social Emotional Support: Teachers and administration staff are typically unapproachable. And are dismissive, gaslight, and deflect any accountability.Special Education: Always misses scheduled IEP appointments by calling in sick, doesn't make up for scheduled missed days.Safety: No accountability for boys who are overly-aggressive towards girls. Constant bullying, fat-shaming, and physical violence.Family Engagement: Attempted to block my personal familial engagement during specific family-entertainment hours like paint-night, picture-taking, by leaving me in the dark about specific and important dates/information.
