Read what parents are saying about Holmes Elementary SchoolAs a former student who has ADHD I didn’t have a good experience all the staff besides two members were horrible and I had to move but that was in like 2011 and 2012 and they have gotten a bit better but the same horrible principle is still there
Posted by a community member on 7/26/2022As a grandparent of a K student at Holmes I am impressed by the school's performance. There are many events and educational opportunities for both students and parents. Each month provides extracurricular activities and take homes. The staff are friendly, well trained, and provide a safe and caring environment for an economic and culturally diverse community. The needs of students appear to be a priority in the face of many challenges. Parent participation is evident. I have worked in the area school districts for many years including many demographics and Holmes is on par with all of them!

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attended K and 1st at this school. I felt like the staff and principal cared about the students and their families and work hard to provide a good healthy atmosphere for them. This school lacks a lot of family/parent support as is evident at the PTA meetings, but those that are involved do their best to make up for that. We really enjoyed having our son attend this school, and our son enjoyed himself as well.Parent Review8y ago - Bryant Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey fired the principal who everyone loved suddenly, without any discussion with the parents, then the pastor left, and the vice principal left. Also they took advantage of us during the coronavirus by continuing to charge parents, plus getting money from the government. Our child was only there for 2 months but we ended up paying for 10 months plus mandatory donations. It is so sad, we had such high hopes for this school but it just cost us a lot of money. Some weird politics are going on and communications are not good. Watch out.Parent Review3y ago - Palisades Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is finishing his first year at Palisades. He is in 7th grade, and this has been the best year he's ever had! I encourage anyone with kids, K-10 to attend here. It has rigorous standards, compassionate staff, and great ideals.Parent Review1y ago - First Presbyterian Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was the only Black child in the kindergarten 2022 and went for nearly a year. One day I received an email—not even a phone call—that he was not permitted to attend any longer. I contacted the principle for some account of why this had happened and she refused to provide any reason whatsoever. To this day I’ve never been given an explanation why the only Black child in the Windsong kindergarten was kicked out of the school.Parent Review3mo ago - Spokane Public Montessori

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs someone who attended this school for 7 years, I can say that if you want your child to grow up to be a self sufficient and independent teenager/adult, this school is great. This school shaped the person I am today and I firmly believe that if I had gone to a different school I would not have been as successful as I am. One of My main criticism for this is school is the ratio of students to teacher (30-1 in my experience) because at times is definitely limited how much individual attention and aid you could get from your teachers. I guess you could also see the positives in that as it can teach you to use critical thinking and solve your own issues, but it can be challenging if you are not that kind of person. While at times I did not love attending this school, I think in the long run it really will help your child become a self motivated and open minded person.Other Review3mo ago
