Carla Peperzak Middle School

Our children have had an exceptional learning experience from Adams Elementary School! My daughter went there from 1st grade to 5th, and now my son has gone there from 2nd to 5th. The principal goes above and beyond for our children. Adams teachers are supportive, kind, they communicate efficiently and teach well. All of the staff do an amazing job! We feel that Adams is a safe school. The only down side is how old the building is, and hoping the bond passes soon, so a new school can be built.

My two children have thrived at Hamblen Elementary school. It is a great neighborhood school with a welcoming, inclusive community. Parents are very involved and the school provides great extracurricular activities. The teachers and staff have done an excellent job supporting children's social-emotional well-being in the midst of COVID-19. My children are enthusiastic about going to school every day. My only complaint is that there are too many demands placed on teachers and classrooms with students that have high behavioral, emotional, and academic needs.

They refuse to follow my child's IEP. Having an IEP does not mean my child is stupid so yes as the school administrators say my kid is smart but you still need to follow the IEP. Only here because of how the district lines are drawn and this is our assigned school.

I can't say enough good things about Jefferson. My kids have flourished here--GREAT teachers. When we found out we were moving to Spokane, I worried that we should limit our house search to the schools on the South Hill with the highest Great Schools scores. Fortunately, I talked with a Spokane native who said, "I don't think you can go wrong with any of the schools on the upper South Hill," (Jefferson, Adams, Mullen Road, Moran Prairie, Wilson, Hutton). Of those schools, Jefferson has the lowest "rating", yet it's a fantastic school with amazing, committed teachers who will spend their whole careers there. It is a beautiful new building with a great surrounding playground (beautiful tall pines) in a great neighborhood. One of my favorite parts about the school is that it brings in kids from both the ritzy neighborhood to the west AND from the more normal neighborhoods to the east and south.

A positive and encouraging environment. Mullan Road is a large school, but has a neighborhood school feel. We feel blessed to be a part of it!

Im shoked by some of the reviews here on kids with disabilities. My child has an IEP and i feel like the school has worked very hard to support my child. And we have had challenges along the way, some on my sons behalf and some on a teachers behalf, but when ive reachout to staff or the principle, ive felt heard and supposed. In comparison to another south hill elementary school, mp is amazing and the staff care about these kids. And it may be true that there is always going to be that one staff member you wish was not there, but as parents, we have to advocate for our kids and sometimes its tough, but if you have a kid with a disability you have to be proactive. And mp is proactive too, multiple times they have suggested additional resources for my child and my childs grown so much with the support from mrs. Powers and so many kind teachers. The comments about the office staff on here, also surprised me. They have been nothing but kind to me and my family. I think you get what you give. If you are a kind and workable parent, you will receive that from all staff at the achool. If you have a child with special needs and are an active parent willingly lto find a solution, then the school will work with you.

My children currently attend Southside and we have only had wonderful experiences. The principal is incredibly kind and the entire staff is so helpful. We feel incredibly welcomed and included in our children's education. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.
