As a parent at Lake Hills Elementary, my family’s experience has been extremely challenging and emotionally exhausting. While there are staff members who genuinely care about students, we have often felt unheard and unsupported when trying to advocate for our child’s educational and behavioral needs.Our family has had ongoing concerns regarding communication, consistency, and implementation of supports within the classroom environment. We have repeatedly had to push for accommodations, accountability, and follow-through related to IEP and behavioral supports. Instead of feeling like partners with the school, many interactions have felt reactive and focused more on discipline than understanding the underlying causes of behavior.Inside the classroom, consistency between staff responses has been a major issue. Expectations and consequences often vary depending on the adult involved, which can create confusion and escalate situations unnecessarily. For students with disabilities, trauma histories, or behavioral challenges, consistency and trauma-informed support are critical. Unfortunately, our experience has often been the opposite.The Lake Hills community itself is very diverse and filled with many caring families and children. However, families advocating strongly for special education supports can sometimes feel dismissed or viewed negatively rather than treated as collaborative partners.As a parent, it is heartbreaking to constantly worry about whether your child will be supported, understood, or disciplined for behaviors connected to their disability. The stress this has placed on our family has been significant. We continue advocating because every child deserves a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where they are treated with dignity and compassion.

Highly unprofessional and misleading conduct. My son was admitted to the center, and I paid a deposit of over USD 3,000 to secure the spot. The original start date was set for the end of the year. When my plans changed, I contacted the center to request a revised start date. I was explicitly assured, both over email and verbally, that this would be accommodated and that the deposit would be carried over.The center has now reversed this position and is not honoring those commitments. They required us to repeat the tour, during which the staff member conducting it was dismissive and disrespectful. They are also requesting an additional assessment. When I asked whether the deposit would be refunded if the assessment was unsuccessful, they explicitly refused.Withholding such a significant amount of money under these circumstances is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about their business practices. This reflects poor ethics, lack of transparency, and unprofessional handling of families. Commitments made in writing and verbally were not upheld.

I enjoyed my daughter attending Living Montessori. She woke up one day and refused to go and that concerned me greatly. She was one of the only students representing her race and I felt there was something weird going on from a mothers intuition standpoint. They had LGBTQ teacher assistants and I noticed during potty training I walked in to a male cleaner in the classroom while the teacher was helping my daughter use the restroom with the door open. Another instance was with Michael the Head of the schools admissions director and I felt like some type of brainwashing was going on. I can't prove it but I felt it. She refused to go to school and said that someone told her to leave she doesn't belong here. IT was very uncomfortable toe experience with your first child and she was also sick for 3 weeks due to dehydration and they told me they don't check to see if the kids are drinking water. They never called or emailed to see if my daughter was okay either. I find it all disturbing being that they are a high profile school charging close to 3k a month for gifted kids etc. I would keep a close eye on everything being that they are mainly Indians attending.

My daughter just started at Jing Mei and she has learnt SO MUCH chinese and English. Shes only been there for 5 months but can read many English words and even more Chinese words. She also loves going to school every day and loves her teachers.
