He was so excited to start school and right out of the gate, he was meant with violence and inattention. He spent kindergarten there and part of first grade until I was approached by the school nurse (not his teacher who I spoke to) about how he needs to see a doctor for his attention span.Fast forward 1 MONTH and he's testing at a 3rd grade level for math and on track in every other subject in 1st grade.Shame on you Karshner. And also, thanks for throwing away his school supplies that I arranged to be picked up (because that was a long time ago. December! It's February 5th! Was I expected to take off work to pick them up?? Shame. On. You.Parent Review2mo ago - Maplewood Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFirst, this school's teachers are absolutely amazing! Our kids went here for 5 years and didn't have a bad one in the bunch. That being said, last year we left and quite frankly we were one of many families we know who did. They are the reason for 2 stars not 1. I couldn't do that to them. There is a strong family feel to the school due to it being a walking only location. But, this can lead to clichés amongst parents and if you're not able to be involved your child tends to be overlooked. Our child had an IEP and once COVID hit and we went virtual we were able to finally see into the quality of "services" he was being provided. We were shocked at the lack of follow through on the agreed upon measures for him. We eventually pulled him out of the additional services as it was more work for us to enforce what was agreed upon than it was for him to get the actual services. We were one of many parents who did this. The final nail in the coffin for our family was the overtly political nature of the administration. From social media posts to the parents PTA FB page to hall displays during specific months to the principal's very office it is overwhelmingly weighed to one political side. In my opinion keep your politics out of our schools. Teach democracy, our political process and how to form your own opinions but please keep it neutral.Parent Review2y ago - Wildwood Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers here are rude and don't even care about the students instead they care more about their reputation. The school doesn't encourage any individuality even know we write essays about it. I was bullied very badly here until middle school not just by the kids in my class but also the teachers too which gave me serious anxiety and trust issues. Overall the school is very racist, sexist, and homophobic and the only good thing that came out of this school is my best friends. I feel sorry for those kids who are going to school here now and wish them luck.Other Review2y ago - Northwest Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my children attended Northwest Christian School from K-8th grade. The teachers are loving and kind. Because the school and class size is small, they got the individual attention that helped them be successful. The entire staff knows every child and helps cultivate a "family feel". Recently they hired 2 learning support specialists that can help the children that are falling behind. The admin staff seem to be right on any behavioral issues that arise. No school is perfect, but this school seems to have most of the pieces in place to bring kids academic and social/emotional success.Parent Review2mo ago - My Small-Sized Friends' Elementary Academy
