Read what parents are saying about Emma L Carson Elementary SchoolWe love being part of the Carson family the past 5 years. The teachers, staff and administration have been supportive and caring, and have taught our children kindness, confidence and the academic skills they need for success.
Posted by a parent on 5/28/2020My son goes to Kindergarten here. It has far exceeded my expectations for a school. I never thought I would feel so safe having my child go here and taken care of. Mrs. Benjamin is excellent. The office staff and PTA go above and far beyond. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!!
Posted by a parent on 11/28/2016My daughter has been attending this school for 3 years. Every year that goes by, it becomes more and more apparent that this school is going downhill. The staff seems disinterested in accommodating the needs of the students, and they are slow to intervene. Today I had a meeting with the principal about enforcing discipline and consequences about my child's negative behaviors and deteriorating grades. I was told that it much can be done and that I need to focus on her positive traits. I even discussed the "no touch" school policy to which the principal replied," unless it's an assault" we don't get involved. Communicating with administration/teachers is a waste of time. I know of many mothers that have removed their children from this school, for the same reasons. Carson is over populated with over 970 students. The students are getting lost in the process. That being said there are some exceptional teachers at this school, but unfortunately the positive are outweighed by the negatives. - A parent looking for answers
Posted by a parent on 11/17/2016We recently moved to the area and enrolled our daughter in a 2nd grade class at Carson. She is so happy with her teacher and with her new school. They find great ways for parent involvement. Fun learning activities, rather than the typical cram style teaching we were used to dealing with. Our daughter is loving her new academic journey and is now eager to learn. The staff has been so friendly and so welcoming to us newcomers. We are more than pleased to have our child attending Emma Carson.
Posted by a parent on 4/15/2015So far we are very impressed with Carson. Both teachers my Daughter has had have been excellent!. Besides that, I volunteer in her class room and get to see first hand why this school excels. The office staff is friendly and caring. They are also very thorough with checking ID's when you pick up your kids. The priciple is very involved and seems to connect with the kids and staff on a personal level. He is often seen walking the school grounds and interacting with the kids. He has a very positive disposition and seems well liked. The PTA is far above standard and should be regonized for their constant involvement in improving the school and the kids experiences.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a concerned parent, I feel compelled to share my experience at Edgerton Elementary. While the school boasts a promising educational environment, I have noticed some troubling aspects that cannot be ignored. One significant issue is the perceived neglect of students by certain teachers. It seems that some educators fail to provide the necessary attention and support to their students, which can be detrimental to their academic and emotional growth.Additionally, my Middle Eastern child faced distressing incidents due to his dietary restrictions. Students made fun of him for not being able to eat pork, highlighting a lack of understanding and empathy among the student body. The school should actively promote diversity and inclusivity, creating an environment where every child feels accepted and respected.Regrettably, I have also observed a lack of action when it comes to addressing bullying incidents. Some students openly use racial slurs, such as the N-word, without facing appropriate consequences. This inaction sends a message that such behavior is permissible, which is deeply concerning and unacceptable.Furthermore, it is disconcerting to learn that some teachers hold very conservative opinions outside of school. While everyone is entitled to their beliefs, it is essential that these opinions do not influence their teaching or the way they treat students of different backgrounds or beliefs. In conclusion, Edgerton Elementary has room for improvement in fostering a more nurturing and inclusive environment. Teachers must actively engage with students and intervene in bullying situations promptly. The school administration should also take decisive action to address instances of racial insensitivity and ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere for all students. Collaboration between the school, parents, and the community can lead to positive changes that benefit every child's educational journey.Parent Review9mo ago - Dessie F Evans Elementary
