Cedar Way Elementary School

We used to have higher expectations for Brighton School, but the last 2 years in middle school has shown a complete decline in standards:- Lack of Academic Focus: Academics feel like an afterthought. Physical textbooks and notebooks were replaced entirely with screen time, online videos, and presentations. - Event Overload: The school operates more like a recreational center. Hosting up to 20 events in a single week distracts from core instruction.- Unprofessional Staff Culture: Teachers gossip openly about students. I had a teacher approach me with private information about my child that they had no business knowing—it feels more like a local market than a respected educational institution.- Absence of Leadership: Reaching out to administration yields no results. Emails to the principal detailing these concerns receive no reply or follow-through.

My son was bullied by another child for a year. The school did nothing. In pre-K he learned almost nothing. Worksheets that he brought home had the teacher’s spelling errors on them. The principal was mean and condescending to me child, accusing him of being a liar instead of believing him and listening to him. School had unqualified staff and hired family members of existing staff. Much of the staff is married to each other!
