Evergreen Academy

The teachers from this school favorite the smarter, more “popular” kids. They talk to them in class and ignore the rest of the kids. The staff in the counseling and principal positions hide from parents and avoid confrontation. The staff almost always believes teachers over children no matter what, even with multiple other children confirming. Some teachers will even bully the students they find less favorable and likable, and nothing is done about it, because they won’t believe the children. The bullying among the actual children is awful, and passive.

I really wanted to love this school but since Mr. DeGallier left it has gone down hill drastically. Instead of lifting disadvantage kids up they take away everything from all the students to make things equal. A lot of parents have given up and left the school and it sad to see. They often dismiss the parents they looks for a quick fix. It feels like they care more about numbers and stats and not at all about the kids.

My daughter has been attending this school since kindergarten and is now in 1st grade, and we’ve had a wonderful experience so far. The teachers are truly amazing and make learning fun and engaging for the kids. Academically, the students learn a great deal and are well ahead of grade level, which we really appreciate.The teachers are also highly supportive and create a very friendly environment where children feel comfortable and encouraged. The school does a great job of making sure kids are challenged while still having fun. In addition, students get to learn Spanish and Japanese, which is fantastic exposure at a young age. The school also offers weekly music and Zumba classes, giving children a great balance of academics and extracurricular activities. We’re very happy to be part of this school community.

My son is currently in 3rd grade at Northlake Academy and has been a student there since kindergarten. My daughter is currently also at Northlake, is in 1st grade, and has been there since Pre-K. Our family has been extremely impressed by Northlake due to its (1) teacher student ratio of 2 teachers for approximately 15 or less students; (2) advanced curriculum in math, reading/writing and science which tends to run a year or two ahead of public schools; (3) supportive, safe and fun environment for learning where our kids feel comfortable to explore ideas; (4) many offered extracurricular activities including dance, piano/music, 2 foreign languages and art. In addition, the school is year round and the tuition includes before and after school care. The price is very reasonable when compared to competitive schools. You get so much for the price. We are very happy here and will continue on through 5th grade knowing that Northlake will provide our kids every resource they need to have a successful scholastic experience and reach their potential. We highly recommend it.
