The small class sizes, highly skilled and caring teachers, and parent community involvement all made St. Joseph a great fit for our family. The academics are challenging and there is the individualized support that each student needs to achieve. We also appreciate the involvement of faith and community service into the curriculum. My daughters who graduated went on to attend a highly competitive high school and were well prepared for the transition to high school. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEastside Community School is an amazing school where my family has been for seven years. I grew up in a private Catholic school and my husband went to public school. We each had our own ideas of what school should look like. We hadn’t heard of Waldorf education, and it has changed our entire approach to learning and parenting as well. Our kids are thriving at ECS. It’s a place where they are allowed to be kids and not overwhelmed by the stresses of adult life and expectations. At ECS the kids are given ample time outside and physical engagement throughout the day, so their minds can learn because their physical needs are being met. The approach is holistic but with social emotional development at the center. ECS is screen free and encourages homes to be as well. That was honestly difficult for my family at first but has changed our lives in such a positive way. My kids are social, inquisitive, imaginative, healthy and most important happy.
