Riverside elementary has Horrible teachers and staff this will make a parent home school they are all on the left and have no clue, 80% have never had a real job they are rude and should all be fired and start over.
Posted by a parent on 9/26/2025I really like this school. The curriculum is challenging, the school is very active on the community. My son looks forward to going to school. I even like the bus driver. I’m very happy overal. I look forward to next year!

Posted by a parent on 9/1/2013I subbed at Riverside last year 2012-2013. As soon as I walked in, people stared at me like I had three heads. The teachers were complete snobs and treated subs like we were just released from prison! I was walking down the hall and heard a group of teachers laughing about the names of their subs! R

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average1 Star , 2 at best. The 5th grade classes are are total chaos.(Not much the teacher can do) 2024 , Hidenwood Elementary is not representative of the area. Yates principal does not follow Virginia law,ie She is supposed to report to the superintendent bullying. We wrote a student up in 2024 and the principal ignored a dangerous situation within the classroom. Neurodivergent kids; kids with learning disabilities, kids who have extra energy, are not welcome. They routinely punish kids and take away any type of social interactions, lunches with friends, 10 minute recesses, unless you’re the perfect student. They will listen to your concerns, but they will not implement them in anyway.
