Read what parents are saying about Ashland Elementary SchoolMy child loves going to school. He started here in kindergarten during covid and his amazing teacher taught these kids to read via zoom. All of the teachers are involved with several aspects, there is a big team spirit in this school. The principal will always be available when you need her. It's a big school but nobody gets lost in the crowd, every individual is treated as such with individual learning styles. They have an amazing robotics team, a science summer camp (camp invention) and technology in every room. We have not been disappointed in 3 years here.
Posted by a parent on 1/30/2023I can't tell enough how much damage this school's preschool teachers caused on my disabled children in one year. It was truly traumatic for every member of our family! They are ableist, school is structural racist. They may be good if your child is not minority and avarage to above avarage with academic skills, otherwise they will constantly be reminded how not enough they are as they are, and need to change. Their teachers there to create narcissistic future adults who will think they are superior. Their suspension rate of disabled students %3 higher than other students, which shows how much they do not like disabled kids and they dispose them when they can't convert them. They will dismiss your kids completely even they are capable of doing wonders if they don't behave like neurotypicals. Stay away with all your power.
Posted by a parent on 7/20/2022The parents, teachers and students are great at Ashland. The problem is the principal - bad person and very toxic leader. Don't be fooled by the press and the banners because with this person as principal, Ashland will always be a very negative place.
Posted by a community member on 5/31/2021Ashland is a great school in spite of the principal instead of because of him. He treats the staff in a reprehensible manner and his day is coming. He will be held to account for his many sins at the helm of this wonderful school. It is a shame he is Principal of the Year because he is really the opposite of what is wonderful about a person or a great principal.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a student who attended Hylton all 4 years (graduated in 2016), I LOVED it! I loved pretty much all my teachers (there’s always 1 or 2 I didn’t like each year though). CISL was a lot of work, but it was fun. There’s a lot of cool opportunities that come through CISL. The history department at Hylton is truly amazing with the teachers - they’re all super knowledgeable and are very passionate about the subjects. A lot of teachers are willing to help you in their class if you speak to them privately and/or go to after-school help. The student population is super diverse, and everyone is very open with their culture/experiences so you really learn a lot about others views/experiences which is super fun. School sports were really fun, although a little less funding towards football and boys basketball and more towards the other sports would be nice. But the school spirit is really awesome to witness!!Student Review5y ago - Montclair Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter went to this school for one and she was heavy bullied by somebody with a disability she was slapped hit and she's also disabled. school never took matters correctly into hands. told my daughter to ignore the bullying. my daughter suffered 1 stroke. from the underlying stress and thousands of freezes up meaning she couldn't move her body I gave the school doctors notes everything for them to stop the bullying but wouldn't because the student had a behavior problem. my daughter was having so much anxiety it was terrifying. I can't believe what this school put my daughter through. and when she finally fought back after being hit multiple times with things inside PE. she defended herself. she got suspended and was told to apologize? in front of the whole school for her actions. actually, I'll never recommend this school to ANYONE. and my daughter told everything to teachers the head they did nothing but talked it out which didn't work at all. worst school my daughter has ever been to more like a prison.Parent Review8mo ago - Sharon C. If I could donate money that will help children attend the best of the best Christian schools. This is where I'd support.Parent Review2y ago - Kyle R. Wilson Elementary School
