Read what parents are saying about Luray High SchoolLuray High School Luray Va Fantastic opportunities for student to take college courses. They have one of the best student support systems I have ever witnessed. Keeping in mind good sportsmanship at all times, whether they win or lose.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI just moved to the area, I am a single mother so my son has to put himself on the bus 3 days a week because I have a decent commute to work. He has a phone so that he can contact me if or when he needs me and so I know when He gets to school. My son missed the bus the other day, not only did I not get contacted immediately that my child was taken to school by someone else, but hours later when I was finally contacted I was basically belittled and made out to be a terrible mom by the assistant principal. I have always made sure to keep in contact with the school in regards to my child and have always been respectful. To get a call hours after your child arrives at school by someone else and to be belittled is something that I don't tolerate. I work hard to provide for my kids and I will not have someone who doesn't know my situation make me out to be a mom who is careless. Today I got a phone call saying social services was contacted in regards to my child. Are you kidding me? Not only has this school year seemed highly unorganized but I have not had a good feeling about this school from the get go. I will be transferring my child elsewhere. I should have followed my gut to begin with and saved myself the trouble.Parent Review6y ago - Mt Carmel Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a Christian I feel I owe it to every other Christian or parent looking to enroll their child into this school to give an honest review. This is not a good place to send your child. The bullying here is beyond anything I have ever seen before, and they refuse to get a handle on it even after multiple conversations with administration. There have even been occasions where those who were getting bullied were blamed and labeled as “weird” by the administration. It is not a good atmosphere for children to be in, especially those in middle school to high school. There have been accounts of Christian staff members talking down to students telling them they would not amount to anything. This is not to say every staff member is like this, and of course every person no matter Christian or not is not perfect – however this type of behavior from staff members is unacceptable and would even be deemed so in a public-school setting. While allowing prayer and God to be talked about is a plus, it is not worth the heartbreaking experience one suffers while enrolled here. God and prayer can be taught at home. In fact, properly training a child on how to deal with the secular and letting them out of their Christian box and into a secular world will only help them. This is a place that looks down on sinners. Children who are going through rough times and confused are ostracized and criticized instead of helped. There is no love nor forgiveness for sinners here. There are multiple accounts from people who can attest to that. There are people who were left traumatized by their poor treatment. One must wonder how a Christian place can be so cruel. In fact, as a Christian I am appalled at the poor representation of His Kingdom. The administration will do nothing but bully and demonize you until you see things their way as if their way is the only way. I am praying that they change their ways because the concept is great. However, the implementation is poor. A church with a seemingly good reputation that is all smoke and mirrors because what lies behind their façade of Christianity is nothing more than a dark history of brokenness, darkness, evil, and lies. As a Christian I am tired of sitting quiet, not saying anything. This place is broken and corrupted. I am not rooting for their failure. Instead, I am asking God to uplift this school and the church. I am calling on the members, parents, and other Christians to demand change.Parent Review11mo ago
