Read what parents are saying about Cave Spring Middle SchoolWe have recently moved into Virginia. Coming from the West Coast we are very pleased with CSMS. The Dedication to structure and education was our first impression. Many sports, as well as after school electives and extended tutoring if needed. Great caring staff that are willing to listen to both student and parents. We are happy to be a part of Cave Springs Middle School.
Posted by a parent on 3/24/2023This is a great school. My son enjoyed the academic team and other club activities. They also offered different levels of courses that meet individual students' need. The teachers and staffs are awesome! We love cave spring middle school!
Posted by a parent on 2/28/2017This is a wonderful school. I love their academic layout. The Pre-AP classes are very advanced, better than the schools in New York (Long Island). They provide a stimulating curriculum, my son enjoys school and is a straight A-Pre-AP student. I am so glad the State of Virginia has not adopted Common Core. Common Core is one of the worst teaching platforms and it wastes valuable time with tests that are never used. I am so pleased with the access my son has to his teachers, staff and extra curriculum activities.
Posted by a parent on 8/26/2016We have loved this school. I have two very different style learning children and they both have done extremely well! It is not easy but the teachers are young and eager to get them ready for high school and even college. My kids have learned awesome study skills as middle schoolers! The environment is new, clean and bright!
Posted by a parent on 9/11/2015This school is wonderful! It has now been completely rebuilt. (Old buillding torn down and new one built) Nothing from the old building was brought into the new one. Bright, beautiful classrooms. Brand new computers, active boards, etc. The staff and teachers are great for the most part. I am a parent with my second child now attending and I have had only one complaint in 3 years. My children have done exceptionally well here both academically and socially.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son went to Grandin Court. He has a learning disability and was treated terribly. He was bullied by students and some staff members. He never had homework because he had a learning disability. Didn’t learn a thing and was not prepared at all for middle school. If you have a child with a learning disability, you might want to check out other schools.Parent Review1mo ago - Cave Spring Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA Disheartening Experience. Poor Leadership and Special Education Services. As a parent deeply invested in my child's education, my experience with Oak Grove Elementary School has been nothing short of disappointing. The glaring issues with this institution stem primarily from its abysmal leadership and woefully inadequate special education services. From the outset, it was evident that OGE lacked effective leadership. Administrative decisions were haphazardly made, resulting in constant confusion and disorganization. The principal seemed disengaged and indifferent to the concerns raised by both parents and teachers, fostering an environment of neglect and frustration.Special education services at OGE were shockingly subpar. Despite assurances of tailored support for students with diverse needs, my child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) was routinely overlooked and disregarded. The lack of qualified staff and resources meant that children with special needs were often left to flounder, without the necessary tools and accommodations to thrive academically and socially. Moreover, communication between the school and parents regarding special education matters was virtually nonexistent. Important updates and progress reports were sporadic at best, leaving families feeling isolated and uninformed about their child's educational journey. In conclusion, Oak Grove Elementary School's abysmal leadership and inadequate special education services have created an environment rife with frustration and disappointment. As a parent, it is heartbreaking to witness the potential of our children stifled by such neglect and incompetence. I urge prospective families to look elsewhere for an educational institution that values every student's unique needs and fosters an environment conducive to growth and success.Parent Review1mo ago - Penn Forest Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is worth the investment. Students are academically pushed, but also nurtured by a highly capable, caring teaching faculty. With small class sizes students actually get to participate in sports, musicals and clubs without having to be "D1" caliber. The curriculum is innovative without losing sight of the need for a sound base in reading, writing and math. You're not going to find anything better in the Valley, and the school could compete with the best private schools in Virginia. Is it perfect, no, but what really is?Parent Review3y ago
