Posted by a parent on 1/30/2024Absolute worst experience. Administration does not document in according to state laws and cannot handle running the school. Special education is horrible and constantly breaks state guidelines. Constantly felt like my child was unsafe to go here for various reasons. Would highly recommend to go elsewhere unless you want to end up in a court battle with them.

The principal has a "for me or against me" attitude and is much more interested in self promotion than students. The school staff includes some incredible individuals, teachers and support staff, who are caring and competent professionals but when issues come up it is impossible to address those issues directly. The leadership will do anything, say anything, to avoid addressing problems. I don't trust the school anymore to even meet my children's basic safety needs.

Posted by a parent on 4/22/2021Good school overall. Teachers are good. Administrative staff as in principal and vice principal are terrible. They’ve dealt poorly with an issue with bullying my child and also made abrupt decisions in the middle of the school year affecting my child without consent or consideration of my thoughts. Voiced concerns went unanswered or even acknowledged. The principal does not treat parents with kindness or empathy when issues are brought to her attention. Very disappointed with her approach and performance as a principal.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrincipal Routt started at East in the fall of 2019 when my son started Kindergarten.She has had an absolutely wonderful impact on the school as had Assistant Principal Thomas. Routt and Thomas knows each child in the school personally and are vested in ensuring their social, emotional and academic needs are being met. Also, all of my kids teachers are happy with the school leadership which speaks volumes. Additionally, the teachers at East are stellar. They are driven and compassionate to see the students do well but also understand kids are kids and make the learning environment fun, comfortable and engaging. And the school collectively met the challenges of everything Covid sent their way. I am so happy my children get to experience the inviting, diverse and compassionate environment of East.Parent Review1y ago
