This is my experience. My daughter (had a different principal than Rasmussen) had an okay experience. Nothing special but did great. Next my son who went here for 2nd through 3rd. It was not the best. He has ADHD and anxiety. His 2nd grade teacher amazing! He’s 3rd grade terrible. It was a male teacher with his masters… yet couldn’t really find a way to connect with my son. Which is fine, we as humans don’t always connect. But looking back as my son is finishing 4th grade at a charter school now, it’s night and day different! He’s excelling, making friends and actually feels included. Finally my youngest son who attended kindergarten at kanesville. He is black and we adopted him at age 3. We learned QUICKLY this school is so uncomfortable and not for people of color. His teacher was great for typical education. Administration is crap. Rasmussen doesn’t care or will listen to others perspectives. We were SO uncomfortable with a Thanksgiving program they did. Songs about guns, Indians, pilgrims, etc. There are plenty of cute age appropriate songs about turkeys and things. We brought this up to the principal and it was like talking to a brick wall. You could tell he didn’t care and my husband and I felt hopeless after our meeting. We reached out to other black adoptees and families, 90% agreed it was wrong and would be upset too. We luckily got them into a charter and let me tell you how my two children have THRIVED this year! We feel heard, my children feel happy and involved and are excelling!

This is an excellent school with a great faculty and staff. I would say Pioneer has one of the best elementary school choirs in the state. In the sixth grade students have the opportunity to learn how to play guitar. The teachers collaborate well and that is seen in the friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk in the building. The librarian is exceptional, she always has a different theme every year and really gets the kids to love and appreciate books. The administration and faculty are great with implementing school wide procedures, integrating the arts throughout the curriculum, and meeting the needs of the students. Parental involvement has also been great.

West Weber Elementary is located in western Weber Country and is part of the Fremont High School cone. In addition to providing comprehensive, core curriculum-based learning to students in kindergarten through 6th grade, we also provide differentiated instruction and special education services, including services to students with severe needs in our functional life skills classroom. Currently there are approximately 520 students enrolled at West Weber with 21 teachers and 31 members of support staff. The original West Weber Elementary was built in 1928. The beautiful, new school we are now in was constructed in 2015 on the same land where the original building stood. However, it is still nice to look out the back windows at cornfields and Clydesdale Horses in the pastures behind the school.West Weber has the largest geographic boundaries of all the elementary schools in Weber District. Nearly all of the students are bussed to and from the school. Many of the students that attend West Weber are 4th and even some are 5th generation students whose parents, grandparents and even great grandparents have attended the school.West Weber Elementary has an active school choir, a peer leader program, Robotics club, and a girls running club. We also have an active PTA and Community Council that provide valuable support and resources to ensure a positive learning experience for all students. this school is a really good school I was a previous student here and the teachers are good to the students
