Read what parents are saying about Cottonwood SchoolI am beyond impressed with Cottonwood High School! I had always heard negative things about Cottonwood and when my son said he wanted to go to Cottonwood I was a little hesitant. He is proud to be part of the football team which is growing and gaining new records. The basketball team has also been a great experience. AP classes, Acadamy of Finance and a community of students that lean on one another where diversity is celebrated! My student has been thriving at Cottonwood and has more opportunities than I could have imagined. My daughter will be starting there next year as well. We are proud to be Colts!
Posted by a parent on 3/29/2022I have loved Cottonwood Elementary! My Oldest son started going there in 1st grade, and now I have my boys in 3rd grade and kindergarten . The teachers are great, the principle and front desk are helpful.
Posted by a parent on 1/20/2015I was not impressed. :( my child learned more in kindergarten attending at Parkside Elementary them he did in first grade at Cottonwood Elementary. At Parkside the teacher sent home a homework folder daily with different paperwork and activities for me to help at home. The only thing my son received from Cottonwood was a 4-5 page book for the week. At report card time I was happy to hear that my son was doing great and excelling at math. However, my work moved me and at his new school my son is required to take a special math class because he Is behind in math. This confirmed my fear that my son was not learning at Cottonwood.
Posted by a community member on 4/11/2012The most recent comment stating, "I have never even heard of the problems that this teacher has with both the parents and the student body" really doesn't make sense. If you had not heard of the problems, why are you commenting on them? There is also another 9 of 10 school within 1 mile of Cottonwood, so you have options. Having that out of the way, my experience to this point has been enjoyable. Parental involvement is great! There is a "Dad's Club" that sponsors various events, such as Papa's and Pancakes. The PTA is very active and involved. The school boasts Nationally Board Certified Teachers! It would be nice if more schools would model themselves after Cottonwood.
Posted by a parent on 10/19/2011we have had a bad teacher at this school for years now. We cannot get rid of her. Several parent have reported problems to the principal and nothing has been done. We cannot get anything done with the district or make any headway with the principal. I have never even heard of the problems that this teacher has with both the parents and the student body. There are several groups trying to make headway on their own to have this teacher removed but it apparently takes dynamite. When your customers are unhappy with the service and its the same employee making everyone angry why cant you fire that employee. I mean come on, its our children!!!! Also 5 percent of the parents do 95 percent of the work. This school has continued to go down hill for the past 4 years. I wish I could get out but I cant afford private and my children have excellent friends.

Failed to teach him. Failed to have a classroom that safely promoted & compels learning. He was quite miserable on many days and I'm up in the night in deep concern. Can't sit with my child at lunch anymore. Simply making it the parents fault or his fault is unacceptable. He was only tardy one day, missed a few days, but that's not enough to claim that he didn't study hard enough.Parent Review1y ago - Howard R Driggs School

There are many ways to get involved if you are looking for a Christian community.Teachers here have a unique opportunity to get to know their students on a deeper level. They care not only about academics, but their students personal lives and spiritual development. My children know that they are cared for and loved by their teachers and staff. We are pleased with the academic rigor here at ICS. We also appreciate the different ways our kids can get involved in extra curricular activities. The athletic program offers a good range of sports for them to participate in. We highly recommend ICS!Parent Review10mo ago - Buttons N Bows

Even if you are catholic the chances are slim you’ll be given the time of day. I understand the last few years have been difficult for this school and the director changing multiple times but frankly it’s disorganized and dishonest given the inability to be kind enough to respond to people just with applications I can’t imagine it being a good school to attend its not crowded there is no excuse. I spoke several people who told me my child was enrolled or as good as enrolled in this school encouraged us to apply multiple times only to be a week away from school starting and still have no formal acceptance or rejection letter no consideration no response or zero care to just simply respond just hundreds of dollars down the drain not to mention me donating money directly to the school and to my friends fundraisers who attend there just to be ignored. Don’t bother applying or even considering it better off at another catholic school the nearby charter school or Waterford where my daughter will be attending.Parent Review1y ago
