Legacy School

I love this school. I went here as a child and moved back as an adult to the same area. The principal here is great. He is involved and cares about the students. He gives us heads-up notice if anything or if the ordinary happened at school so we can address any questions. Most of the teachers have been amazing! We've had one or two that weren't my favorite, but for the most part we've loved them. They are very supportive. I love the atmosphere there as well. Once my child had a bullying problem a couple years ago and it was nipped in the backside right away. Haven't had issues since. We are looking for a new place and I'm so sad to more than likely have to leave after six years here.

This school keep kids waiting for the bell to enter school when is snowing. This will see the kids trying to find refuge in the side of the school. Only in storms days they are allowed to enter directly to school. The school has good intentions; however, they don't know how to deal with kids with disabilities. They are old fashioned in education and they have to work to update the teaching techniques. Teachers are old fashion and pile with useless homework. They are great if your kid fit in. But if your kid is different in anyway, look for other schools.

In my experience, Cedar Ridge and it's leadership are ill-equiped to deal with students who have special needs. For students who need more support, instead of trying to accommodate and work with these students and their families, they do everything they can to ignore their needs and push them along the educational conveyor belt. On the other end of the spectrum, if your student is bright but is not in an ALL class, they will also be ignored.

There are several bullies in the school throughout different grade levels. If it's a built who causes major harm, the school has steps to monitor that child in place to prevent them from continuing. My child is being teased on the daily and no one seems to care.
