Posted by a community member on 5/11/2017I am a substitute teacher of 4 years. My first experience at this school was awful. The students were very disrespectful. So much that they overshadowed the good students. It's sad and unnecessary for that kind of behavior to someone who is a guest in their school not to mention how it makes them look as people in society. They need a firm, loving hand.

Posted by a teacher on 9/11/2016We moved here three years ago and are very happy with the quality of all the schools in Taylor. My daughter had Travis Motal at MSI and now he's moved to TMS and she has him again. He's doing a great job of getting things organized and running more smoothly. He is a great choice for principal. The atmosphere at all the schools is lighthearted and fun and you can see that reflected in the kids. Great school system!

I have had great support from my administrators, other teachers, parents, and the community. Taylor is a great place to be.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen we had to move back to the Austin-area because of work, we made our kids’ school a priority in deciding where to live. We live in Taylor because of this school. Said another way, we found this school and then found a way to live near it and send our kids to it. The parish and extended school community (students come from Taylor, Granger, Thorndale, Round Rock, Georgetown, Hutto, Pflugerville, etc.) are welcoming and supportive. Student demographics are a wonderful mix that reflects the surrounding agricultural and suburban communities. This is NOT what many would consider to be a ‘typical’ private school population, and in the case of St. Mary’s, we think this is very good indeed. This school “looks and lives” more or less like its surrounding community, with the variety that said community affords.Our kids span from the Pre-K to Elementary to Junior High and High School, so we can speak to our experience across all the grade levels offered. Academic programming is strong. Athletic programming is strong for some sports and improving in others. Catholic identity is a priority, and so, formation in virtue and faith are emphasized throughout the curriculum (i.e., not only in religion classes). N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school. My kids started at pre-k and completed kindergarten and 1st grade. They’ve learned so much in such a short time!The teachers are super great, care so much and tech the little duck a lot. The Principal Mr. Basche really takes care of his little ducks and makes sure they are safe and improve their learning, he was always there for any concern or questions. The new school district superintendent Dr. Padavil is also available for parents. All together I’d say that is how the learning experience should be!Parent Review11mo ago
