This was our first year to the area as we transferred here from another district in the Austin area and the difference was huge for us. Learning is definitely a priority but the students over all well being and values are also huge to the staff and admin. There is a sense of community and safety felt that I have never experienced before. I am glad to have transferred here. That being said it is a newer staff and direction coming from the district in general so hopefully to continue to see the up hill stride.

My daughter transferred from one of the bigger districts suburban districts near Austin for the 20-21 school year. I was very worried about how things would go as a new student in the middle of a pandemic along with beginning the year virtually. My worries were unfounded. My daughter has had 2 great teachers during this long school year. There were changes made to classes due to many virtual students returning in person. Both teachers have gone above and beyond to make sure that my daughter is thriving and learning. She looks forward (most days) to going to school. In February, the district hired a new superintendent, Dr. Padavil who is doing a great job of ensuring that all the schools are focused on students and teachers being able to teach. There is a new principal for the upcoming school year with new positive vibes going through the district. The district is also unique because it has an amazing Early Childhood school (PK3 - Kinder) for its littlest learners. I love the small town vibe and compassion, and we are looking forward to seeing what the upcoming school year will bring.

Our family enrolled our little boy at this school with really high hopes.. what we got was disappointment. This school lacks diversity. Our child was often singled out and treated differently than other little children. It caused him a lot of distress and mental anguish. The administration seemed to be warm at first but quickly turned hostile and aggressive when concerns were raised by my husband and I. The academic quality is extremely poor, which prompted us to check the third grade teacher’s credentials, she is uncertified to teach through the state of Texas, she does not hold a degree in education and struggles with classroom management. Coming from a background of underperforming students, it is unclear how she was trusted with such an important grade. Aftercare programming is equally concerning, many times my child came home extremely dirty and filthy which made us question the level of supervision. This is NOT the Catholic Education we were expecting. Families deserve better.
