Read what parents are saying about St Laurence Catholic SchoolAs a parent, choosing the right school for our children is one of the most important decisions we make. After experiencing St. Laurence Catholic School, I can confidently say that it has exceeded all our expectations in providing an exceptional education intertwined with strong Catholic values.St. Laurence is not just a school; it's a place where young minds are nurtured, faith is deepened, and values are instilled. The combination of outstanding academics, unwavering Catholic values, and a strong sense of community make SLCS an exceptional choice for parents seeking a well-rounded education for their children. I am grateful for the positive impact it has had on my child's life and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a Catholic education of the highest quality.
Posted by a parent on 10/9/2023There are some fantastic teachers at St. Laurence. However, there are many teachers who are unqualified, rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful to students and their families. Teachers lazily assigned work they downloaded from the internet, and were baffled when the students became confused when the work the teacher got from the internet was inaccurate or confusing. Students are not punished for misbehaving or bullying. There were many cases of parents doing work for students, and students cheating, and no action was taken to fix or prevent this from happening. There was a certain teacher who was extremely disrespectful and actively harassed students she disliked. When we spoke with the school administration about this, they acted surprised and confused, and they took no action to stop this inappropriate behavior of staff members. The school administration overreacts extremely when students do things that are not very bad, but they do not punish serious behavioral issues, like bullying. Teachers often took out their own emotion and frustration on the students. There were certain teachers who also had very unprofessional teaching styles. Those teachers had no expectations for the students, and they often taught their own political beliefs as class material, which is extremely inappropriate, rude, and unprofessional. The staff (excluding a few people) had no care for their students' health. A younger student I know very well got a UTI because the majority of the staff at the school refuse to let students use the bathroom, except for the 3 minutes between classes, during which time they are also expected to go to their lockers and travel to their next class. Another student I know was screamed at by the lunch staff (who are always disrespectful and rude) because the student was not given the food item they ordered, so they went back to ask for the correct item. The school has a fundamental lack of communication. Teachers, administration, and families often know nothing about what is happening at the school because they are uninformed. The school is very obviously run by the parents who donate lots of money. These parents are often selfish, rude, exclusive, and these traits also reflect in their children. Overall, the majority of the faculty and staff at the school are unqualified, rude, disrespectful, selfish, and incompetent, but there are definitely a few great faculty/staff members, including the IT staff and the church priests, who are very kind.
Posted by a community member on 8/14/2023We have chosen St. Laurence Catholic School due to its values. The school provides a stable foundation of Christian faith, respect, discipline, and leadership, which then guide the young individuals transform into future servants and leaders. The faculty, staff and clergy deliver exquisite jobs, the PTO graciously offers invaluable aid with fun school events throughout the year. The Before and After School Program, BASC, is a bonus! Our 3rd grader enjoys it!! Moreover, the cafeteria does an exceptional job providing lunches for our Saints. There are various opportunities which allow parents to engage in their child’s school life, for both working and non-working parents. Furthermore, we are pleased with the mature fashion the school handles business in the mist of the ongoing pandemic. All in all, we highly recommend SLCS. The school sets a welcoming environment for both Catholic and non-Catholics families. SLCS is a place where children can experience quality learning and create healthy relationships with their peers. Join the SLCS community, its exceptional people, learning, and environment!
Posted by a parent on 8/25/2021Our 4 children graduated from this amazing school and after working so closely with so many caring educators as a parent, volunteer and as a coworker, I am proud to say that this is one school where the student's full potential can be discovered. It's so difficult to put into words simply the enormity of what this school can do for your student and for your family. Suffice it to say that your student will be transformed in a way that makes them a better learner, a better citizen and a better person overall. Our Catholic school is one that both nurtures the student's talents and helps them to build a foundation spiritually and educationally to cope with today's world. I am so happy to be a part of this school once again, teaching and growing along with my students.

They can learn without fears and have a normal social life. It is sad for me that we will be graduating from Walden but I know many children will be in love with Walden school just like the way we do.Parent Review3y ago - Cornerstone Christian Academy
