Read what parents are saying about Colony Bend Elementary SchoolGreat school except for the special ed dept. If you have a child in special ed, they will pull all of tricks you read about. They will not send you paperwork in advance of your ARD, they will "forget" about pulling your child out for one-on-one instruction and not document it. A "teacher conference" will turn out to be a meeting with only one teachers, but 5 other district employees that you didn't expect. We found the sped dept to be unprofessional and not well trained. Again, this really is a sweet, nice school, with very sweet kids & parents. Just be leery if you have to attend IEP & ARD meetings.
Posted by a parent on 5/13/2015Son in K. Parents are very involved. Teachers provide lots of feedback. FBISD is a good district.
Posted by a parent on 10/24/2014My girls have been there three years and they love it! The teachers really care a lot about their students.
Posted by a parent on 4/28/2014The staff are outstanding! They really care about the students and parents. We really hate to see Connor move up. The staff will be missed by us.
Posted by a parent on 4/28/2014We love CBE! However, this year they were not prepared for the unexpected increase in the student enrollments. Our 4th grader was randomly selected and moved to a new fourth grade classroom. The new classroom was created to meet the student teacher ratio. After only one day of being moved, we receive another notice indicating that the new teacher had left the school district . In the meantime, my child and her classmates will have substitutes until a qualified educator is hired.

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm so disappointed with Commonwealth. We've made several interstate moves and I rely fairly heavily on GreatSchools, which is what has prompted me to write this review. Commonwealth absolutely does not deserve such great ratings. I think that is a hold-over from maybe 10+ years ago. We've lived here for almost 5 years now, and the school (as well as all of Fort Bend Independent School District) has been nothing but disappointing, angering, and it continues to devolve. The situation will not improve while Dr. Dupre is the head of FBISD and Dr. Bogle is the principal of CWE. CWE is built for roughly 680 students and currently holds over 1100! And there is no immediate plan to address this issue. The number of janitors is decided based on square footage of the building, not the number of students, and the condition of the boys' bathrooms have been compared to the worst possible public restrooms. Parents refuse to go in them, and kids simply do not go all day to avoid them. It's Texas and so it is extremely hot for fairly extended periods of the year. At the beginning of this school year, several classrooms (some out in the portable trailers) were without air condition for multiple days. There was no communication from the staff to the parents. Kids were coming home flushed and sweaty, and my parent chatroom discussed kids even vomiting and passing out! My boys frequently tell me they've had "silent lunches" or "walking recesses" and recess time is frequently cut. There are lots of punitive threats - finish your daily work or you'll go to the principal, finish your work or you'll finish it in the principal's office, finish your work or you'll stay back from the class field trip. One day the students were inexplicably dismissed 15 minutes early in pouring rain, again with no communication to the parents. I found children (my 3 boys included) soaking wet and up to almost 1/2 mile from the school. The school is currently more than 70% Asian. It's been very difficult for my kids socially and has invariably affected other aspects of the school, including discipline, the PTA, parent volunteers, etc. I say this mainly as a data point. I did not expect it, and we've learned a lot particularly in the last 2 years as this area continues to grow and change.Parent Review5y ago - Riverbend Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, choosing the right school for our children is one of the most important decisions we make. After experiencing St. Laurence Catholic School, I can confidently say that it has exceeded all our expectations in providing an exceptional education intertwined with strong Catholic values.St. Laurence is not just a school; it's a place where young minds are nurtured, faith is deepened, and values are instilled. The combination of outstanding academics, unwavering Catholic values, and a strong sense of community make SLCS an exceptional choice for parents seeking a well-rounded education for their children. I am grateful for the positive impact it has had on my child's life and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a Catholic education of the highest quality.Parent Review6mo ago - The Honor Roll School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRepetitive learning curriculum, not advanced at all. Lack of school regulation for campus safety. Some teachers treat students poorly. And they don't think young children can advocate for themselves and complaint about the teachers' unfair treatment in school to the parents.Parent Review1mo ago - The Walden School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe been with Walden school since both my boys were 9 weeks old, I feel blessed even during this pandemic my younger son can still attend kinder without any worries. They can learn without fears and have a normal social life. It is sad for me that we will be graduating from Walden but I know many children will be in love with Walden school just like the way we do.Parent Review3y ago - Trent International School
