The school and school district do a terrible job as far as communication on a child's transportation its already the third time I'm notified my daughter is a bus rider which she is not! she does koal kare only!!!!! they have not updated that she is not a bus rider!!!

Posted by a parent on 8/13/2018My child has been going to Salyers for 3 years and there are definitely some pros and cons as with any school. The no homework policy has been great for us with busy schedules, but I'm sure not everyone is happy about that. I'm not thrilled about the new GT policy, but that was a district decision.
Posted by a parent on 8/23/2013When I first read up on the school , I thought I made a great choice now I'm not to sure, I mean if they don't give homework , so I as a parent reach out to my childs teacher through email, and ask about progress, let me know what you are doing and I can print down worksheeets etc.

We came from the Heights and an IB school, so while the material seems more relaxed, the teachers and staff are phenomenal here. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy 1st daughter got sexually assaulted at this school by another student and nothing was gone about it at all. The child was kept in the school. No CPS report was filed…My daughter got isolated from her friends during recess. The child who touched my daughter got to keep going to recess and regular classes. They claimed to be waiting on “Title 9” to investigate. After months we were basically told that nothing could be done. The principal seems to care more about looking cool than taking care of children because she would never be present at these meetings that involved my child’s safety. We were not told about it until the end of the day even though it happened middle of the day. We were told that we didn’t need to come to the school to investigate. Worst public school in Houston.Y’all are extremely lucky NO attorney wants to go against y’all for this…Other Review2y ago
