Read what parents are saying about Olmos Elementary SchoolAWESOME SCHOOL.. NEVER NO PROBLEMS.. GOOD TEACHERS AND STAFF.. THANKS!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK..
Posted by a parent on 9/27/2017The staff is great, it just seems there are a lot of kids there that dont speak english and the broken engish seems to be comming home with my childeren. The parents are not involved at all and it shows with the kids attitude. This school also borders a run down duplex complex that is concerning to my family. The teachers are helpful and thats great. This school is in a bad area and getting worse.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe current and immediately former principal of the school are on their way to running it in the ground. Before the two most recent administrators, morale was high for the teachers, the kids enjoyed their learning, and it was great success schoolwide. Not the case anymore. When friends of friends are hired to run the school, it will never be back to its former glory. Look elsewhere for the sake your child.Parent Review11mo ago - West Avenue Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do not recommend this school. The principal does not care for the parents opinions. The principal sprang the topic of going to school all year round when there was only three months left of school. During the zoom meeting, by the way they were talking, the decision was already made that they were going to do this. It was NOT a discussion of what our opinions were. It was a discussion of this is what we are doing. They falsely led us believe that we were going to be able to be in the decision making, especially since it is OUR KIDS, but nope! A week later we got an email letting us know that the school board had approved the decision of doing school all year round. They do not care what the parents think. So now parents have to make a rushed decision about where they want there child to go to school the next school year. It would have made more sense if they would have discussed this for the year of 22-23 to give parents a chance to make arrangements. What if parents already had plane tickets to go somewhere for a week as we did, are they going to pay the parents back the money because now they have to cancel their vacation, NO! What about the child that has parents that are divorced and go stay with them possibly in another state, are they going to pay for the court cost if the other parent is being a jerk and still wants there child for the summer, NO! This is stuff that they did not think about and this shows that they do not care! I will rave about one thing and that is my sons teacher in 3rd grade, Ms. Gonzalez. She communicates very well with the parents and has always kept me in the loop about my child. Anytime she has any concerns she always reaches out to me and this is what I like in a teacher. I like to know what is going on with my child. That is the ONLY reason I am giving this school 1 stars.Parent Review3y ago - Neal Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attended Neal Elementary from Kindergarten -- 4th grade. At first I thought it was okay, but when you take a harder, deeper look theres all kinds of issues. They begin with the higher administration. Every year my child went there at least 1 teacher would just up and leave in the middle of the school year. Thats unheard of.Parent Review1y ago - Wilson Elementary School
