Read what parents are saying about Vic Robertson Elementary SchoolSo far so good. Hoping the other grades and our 2nd child's experience is as pleasant.
Posted by a parent on 10/17/2017Its hard to be the 23% white kid that's not on free lunch at this school. Children in this neighborhood are rough and with that comes a lot of foul language, bullying, and I know its elementary - but a lot of soon to be promiscuity. I hate that this is what my son is surrounded by but I am a young, single parent and this is where I could afford to buy a house. I feel like there is a lack of supervision to be quite honest. My sons 5th grade home room teacher seems to be quite frustrated and the same with his 4th grade teacher and he is convinced his music teacher hates him. WOW what a way to feel as a kid! 5th graders do not get recess unless they earn it. My son will never have a perfect day- he struggles with being loud- he's a kid. He is the one that needs to get it out for 30 minutes on the playground but apparently test studies are more important. I can't wait to get out of this area!
Posted by a parent on 6/4/2015Admin staff is horrible, when trying to get her enrolled they lost our child's paperwork 2 times. When they finally decide to complete the registration on computers, the day before the teachers were supposed to meet with parents, they tell us even though we live 4 blocks away we are supposed to send our child to another school. This was 3 days before school started (not counting the weekend). Even though we had initially stated the registration process 2 months earlier, what a joke.
Posted by a parent on 8/25/2014I really enjoyed having my daughter attend this school, she loved her teachers and learned a lot. They took a field trip and accommodated my situation with my daughter. She looks forward to attending again and has asked about her teachers there over the summer. I'm glad they made it such a great beginning to her school experience in pre-k. Thanks Robertsons teachers and staff.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStay away from this school, especially if your child has any special needs. There is a lack of support for children with any kind of social-emotional support needs and a complete lack of action on bullying unless you take your concerns to the district. Trying to work with the current administrators is an exercise in futility, as the blame for anything that happens involving your child will automatically be your fault and your child's and no one else's. If I were the RISD Superintendent I'd shut this school down and completely overhaul staffing, support, and resources as none of it is adequate.Parent Review3mo ago - Union Hill Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy two children, ages 6 and 7, just finished their 1st year in the Dual Language program at Union Hill. I think it is an excellent program. The progress that each of them has made over the last 9 months is astounding. We moved here last year from Miami and their Spanish is much better now than it was in their previous school. The teachers are knowledgeable and flexible and work very well with both parents and students.Parent Review11mo ago - Neysa Callison Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRound Rock Christian Academy is far from the Christian values that they advertise about. My child has attended this school since kindergarten and recently left this year last week on September 29th, 2023, on Friday and started a new school at Hutto Middle School on October 2nd on a Monday, his first time ever attending a public school. When my child first entered RRCA, we were greeted with unwelcome staff. Even the principal would constantly state, "The school is not a good fit for him. Maybe look into another school, like public." With that, you think I would have gotten the hint that this school establishment was not as great as it was perceived to be, but me being so darn stubborn and wanting them to eat the words they just spoke about my 5-year-old I stayed longer than I would ever have imagined. Over the years, my son and I took a lot of mental abuse from the staff and teachers. During the long nine years of being at the school, we encountered an Environment that was very toxic and unprofessional, with the staff gossiping amongst each other and talking about parents to other parents. Having no supervisor in the front office, an 8th grade mother chats about children. The workload is outraged and not necessary; they are in 8th grade, and to have only one day off from homework is insane. This has caused anxiety attacks and self-seclusion for them. There is no family time due to the work overload; they have no time to enjoy themselves. The teachers are very rude and push their ideas and beliefs on the children. They are not allowed to question or go against them. The teacher has told my kid they don't like him, grabbed him, doesn't belong at the school, blamed him for their issues, and made him cry by getting in his face. If your child has learning disabilities, they do not care and will not take into account what your child needs. My child needed a new computer because the key was missing (this is a private school we pay for) and I did not want to replace the computer, so I went to the school and voiced my opinion. Children are allowed to use restrooms only three times during the semester. Yonder Pouches are just a way to hide what the teachers do to your students. My son said a teacher called a student to the front of class, called her out for not doing what she said, and laughed at her. The racism at this school is high, so don't be brown.Parent Review6mo ago - Illuminated Academy of Texas
