Rockport-Fulton High School

LOLC is in a small town in Texas. There are many kids on welfare here. Kindergarten wasn't normal for my grandson, James. He had to home school much of last year due to Covid-19. I believe it put a lot of our kids at a lower rate of knowledge than usual because the schools all over America were not prepared for such a situation as a pandemic. Learning how to teach our own kids the curriculum was difficult at best. But so far, we are at the best part of the situation and trying hard to get back on track. LOLC did a very good job during the trying times and we definitely deserve an A for effort. We would recommend our school to anyone and everyone.

SHS is a gem in Rockport. If you’re looking for a small classroom environment, teachers who care, and equal focus on academics and behaviors/values, you’ll love it here. Children get the attention they deserve and are taught that they are capable, whether it is learning to read, or doing exercises. Coach Tony really works the kids out in PE so they will come home tired! Mrs Barnes, the director, is lovely and will give you a warm welcome. Father Ray is great with the children. The teachings are doctrinally sound. The school is great about helping the children form healthy habits and not tolerating poor behavior. Everything operates in a community environment with parents volunteering at the school, or fundraising, and the teachers also involved in the community. A refreshing change from large public school life. Tuition is very reasonable. This sounds contradictory but I would describe the environment as structured yet relaxed- it’s a good balance. My kids favorite activity this year was the Accelerated Readers shopping event where they get to use their reading points to shop for donated goodies and toys.
