SHS is a gem in Rockport. If you’re looking for a small classroom environment, teachers who care, and equal focus on academics and behaviors/values, you’ll love it here. Children get the attention they deserve and are taught that they are capable, whether it is learning to read, or doing exercises.
Posted by a parent on 4/9/2024My son didn't start here until February 2017 and we were worried about switching schools in the middle of the year but it's the best thing we could've done for him… They welcomed him right away, got them caught up on everything they were learning, and within a few months instead of getting season D'

The teachers I have encountered so far have throughly enjoyed teaching at this school and it shows in my kids eyes. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLOLC is in a small town in Texas. There are many kids on welfare here. Kindergarten wasn't normal for my grandson, James. He had to home school much of last year due to Covid-19. I believe it put a lot of our kids at a lower rate of knowledge than usual because the schools all over America were not prepared for such a situation as a pandemic. Learning how to teach our own kids the curriculum was difficult at best. But so far, we are at the best part of the situation and trying hard to get back on track.
