Jester IV Unit

Im am a donut. A very yummy donut.

There is a teacher that I had the pleasure of meeting her name is Mrs. Curtis. She is new to school but her overwhelming personality brings such a radiant disposition not just to the school, but to the students and staff. Her skills in her field will hopefully bring an abundance of knowledge to help assist in her area expertise. Thank you, Mrs. Curtis, Hope you have plenty years here at Pecan Grove

I had a terrible experience with the administration at Oyster Creek Elementary. The principal was highly unprofessional and dishonest with our family. She tried to trick me into signing Special Education/IEP paperwork by telling me it was for an 'automatic grade promotion.' When I found out the truth and refused to sign, she changed her story completely and used high-pressure tactics to bully me.Staff members even threatened that my child would be held back if we moved to another school, but would be allowed to pass if we stayed. They care more about keeping students enrolled for district government funding than they do about the actual well-being of the children.Thankfully, Texas state law protects parental rights, and I had to go over the principal's head to the district leaders to get my son's second-grade placement secured. If you are an international or multilingual family, be very careful and do not sign anything without checking your rights first. We are happily leaving this school for a private academy.

As a past alumni from this school (since kindergarten). I can tell you a lot from this school was nothing but bad memories from teachers and students alike! If youve seen the other reviews mentioning a "bootcamp" like feeling, they have never been more correct! Starting from second grade, teachers pace around the lunchroom with a microphone while pointing, yelling, and sometimes punishing kids in a harsh-like manner! I remember me and my friends only being able to talk for 5-8 minutes out of the 25 minutes of lunch. Same goes for recess as well. We walk into the area-- Teachers wait for EVERYONE to be quiet while yelling and pointing at us-- We end up having a short recess-- We get called in early and leave. Except that we are separated with zones because 2 kids cant handle themselves. (They enforce the motive that one person counts for all, something like that)The school does NOT take victims of bullying seriously. I have been bullied, made fun of, and berated constantly at every grade level, even facing accounts of racism! And teachers dismissed my complaints as if it was a made up story.Aside from horrible treatment that I do not want to get into, that is what I think. DO. NOT. RECOMMEND.
