James Bowie Middle School

My Daughter as attended this school for the past 4 years. Teachers as well as principal and staff are always so easy to get in touch with. I like the fact that is a small school so all students get a lot of attention. So far after 4 years I have like this school have nothing but good memories so far.

My son loved school Kinder and Pre-K. This school changed that drastically came 1st and 2nd grade. This is not a safe space bullying is allowed and hidden. It it taken seriously based on what the school thinks you will do.They got rid of previous principal who was a God send to keep the truth and there stats low. I will be taking this to court. My son has shown exceptional excellent growth since I removed him and put him in a private school.

The teachers are typically pretty good even though every now and then their is a bad teacher! But the administration is awful! They are extremely rude to parents and the children and even go as far as to scream at both parents and children! They absolutely refuse to follow legally binding agreements that are in the best interest of the children! They discriminate against children with learning disabilities! And they have zero problems with lying to a parents face! Not a good environment for children because the staff have super poor attitudes about doing what they are being paid to do!

Excellent school, teachers, and admin. You can really feel the positive energy from the moment you walk in the doors.

I went to Austin as a child and absolutely loved it! So i was very excited when my son, niece and nephew were zoned to there. Their experience so far seems to be just like mine! The teachers and staff are very caring and involved. Even some of my teachers are still there including the same art, music and P.E. teachers! I am telling you…Austin Elementary is just like no other school. My niece is now in 6th grade and actually cried on the first day of school when we dropped off her brother and her cousin :-( She said she wishes she could still go there. I hope it continues to stay the same elementary school they’ve been for decades. So this review comes from not only a previous student but also a parent of a student! Forever an Austin Astronaut!

My daughters attend this school since 2020 and it’s been amazing! There is not one negative thing I vacant say. My kids are thriving and are loving school.
