Read what parents are saying about George Bush High SchoolThis is the actual worst school probably in the whole state of Texas. I’m not sure why it’s still up. Bullying is so prevalent, most teachers hate their jobs and will take it out on you, and even the principal is completely ruthless and unprofessional. I caught her physically harassing a student in front of an entire crowd, all because of a misunderstanding. I was a personal victim of her unfair treatment as well. If you find good teachers in this school and good peers, consider yourself lucky because it doesn’t happen quite often. I have a lot to say, but what’s the point. there is literally nothing good about this school. I can’t think of a single thing, and you probably think I’m joking but I’m literally not. Besides the few staff members and teachers that are actually cool and friendly, the rest are a bunch of people who hate their lives and will not hesitate to take it out on you. I never knew my full potential until I got out of this place. It seriously ruins your perception of the world. It’s not until college that I realized how friendly, civilized, respectful, AND hygienic people can be. This school is the most low vibrational place I’ve ever went to. Unfortunately, I can’t undo the trauma it has caused me. Thankfully I am out but like I said, this place changed me as a person (for the absolute worst.) Of course, everyone’s experience will be different but I will tel you that not one person in that building will tell you George Bush High School is a generally good quality school. If you have other options, please don’t go to this one.
Posted by a community member on 9/27/2023This school is terrible . I thought Bush was a good school. There are only a few teachers that care about the kids. The administrators don’t try to help the kids. They just find anyway to send kids to alternative schools. Bush is an example of the pipeline to prison. I had to take my son out this school . I plan to move so my other son won’t have to go to this school. This school needs more police and security officers.
Posted by a parent on 9/18/2023This school has an effective approach to homeworkTeachers try their best, they attempt to understand students situation, as a current student who has had many medical setbacks, teachers have helped accommodate me.Teachers at this school are effectiveTeachers (For the most part) try their very best, and some students are even somewhat friends with faculty, using them as people to go to in tough times. Teachers are extremely stretched out, due to the leadership, as one of my friends was taught algebra II for 75% of the year by a substitute with no training.Leadership at this school is effectiveAwful leadership. I have been taught at many strict Christian private schools, and I would rather deal with that than the people in leadership positions here. They just simply do not care whatsoever. They harass not only students but teachers as well, giving teachers unrealistic standards, which scares away teachers, meaning many classes, including Pre-AP and AP classes, are taught by mentally harassed and untrained teachers. It's extremely upsetting. This school develops strong character in its students, like integrity, compassion, and respectTeachers care. Leaders don't. Teachers try their best to be there for students and instill good morals in them as well. However many situations the leaders handle end in suspension, purely because they don't care and don't want to deal with it.This school effectively supports students with learning differencesThey try, but because of the way the school is run, with teachers that have no experience, they often fall short. This school effectively deals with bullyingAgain, many of these situations end in not only the bully being suspended, but the school will find a way to suspend the victim as well. For example, if a student were to jump me and beat me up, I would probably be suspended for trying to defend myself. It's ridiculous.
Posted by a student on 6/23/2021Great school despite what most people may think or say of it. The JROTC program is the best there could be, and, if I'm not mistaken, it is the number one program in the greater Houston area.
Posted by a student on 1/31/2020Extremely poor, Many PRE AP and AP classes are taught by substitutes or teachers with no GT training or 0 years of teaching experience

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe 4th grade teachers are the best but the kids are always making racist comments. It’s very sad that this is happening in schools and nothing is being done about it. The school needs a new principal that cares about our color kids.Parent Review1y ago - Mission West Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, I am truly saddened that this is my son's last year at this Mission West. The education provided here has been great. The teachers are exceptional, fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment. What sets this school apart is the principal who is extremely visible and who actively engages with students, parents, and staff. My son has thrived academically and personally, and I am grateful for the strong foundation this school has provided. It's been a fantastic journey, and we'll always cherish the memories made here.Parent Review6mo ago - Petrosky Elementary School
