IDEA Pflugerville College Prep

We have 5 kids, by far this is the only elementary school that has given us mixed feelings. Today we had our childs teacher reach out to us and be persistent on teaching our daughter puberty lesson!? We expect our decision to be respected. Not to be convinced of their own beliefs. Never have we experienced such persistence on any matter with any of our kids. Respect the parents plz. Also when dropping off kids in the morning. There seems to be no police presence, traffic always chaotic and parents dropping off kids in the front of the school seem to not care about parking at the drop off! Nobody addresses that there's no parking at the dropp off lane! Where is the police in the mornings?

My 4 kids have all gone to this school. They always love there teachers there but the new principles always seem to be the problem. The inexperienced principles change all the time and run the good teachers off who always stayed before. Miss Anderson, miss wyly, Mr Moreno and miss carillo keep my kids excited because they know those teachers will always be there even if others don't come back after the summer. Now we hearr Dessau might close down like it was going to 3 years ago. I am so glad these teachers stayed when the other ones left. The principle now needs a lot of work but her male assistent really helps a lot. I expect next year will be the last of this school so at least my kids still there can count on the teachers they love still there

My son attended kindergarten through fifth grade at Brookhollow. I had initially hesitated to put him in public school because he was identified as both gifted and special needs. We came to Brookhollow after a couple of failed attempts with small private schools that advertised themselves as supporting kids with ADHD and other learning differences. Unfortunately, we quickly learned that despite their marketing, small private schools don’t usually have staff who are properly trained with those conditions. Brookhollow was a godsend. The teachers were loving and attentive, and though the school struggled with being underresourced by the state, the administrators consistently were able to do a lot with a little. My son thrived at Brookhollow, which has a wonderful, cozy neighborhood culture. All the teachers seemed to know his name, and we were always dealt with warmly and supportively by all staff we engaged with. I would note that Brookhollow struggles with communicating promptly and consistently, although there are several different newsletters; the events that apply only to a single grade or class can easily get lost in the busyness, especially when the overstretched teachers are the ones responsible for communicating about them. I thought this was a small price to pay for access to such dedicated and experienced staff, though. My family feels extremely lucky to have experienced Brookhollow under Ms. Harris, the current principal. What a gift!

Teachers/Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is after school care(which is awesome) many learning activities. My child loves her teacher and loves going to school. The school safety is great!
