Read what parents are saying about Fairmont Elementary SchoolI am disappointed. #1 safety. If you drop your kid off any time before 7:15am, there are no school personal out in the 2 waiting areas (main and side entrances). My kid is 6. I know we all want to believe that no bad thing can happen in a good area, but lets be real. When I ask the office they say there is no body watching the students who are waiting in the morning. I ask can they at least come in the school out of the cold since the staffs are there at school by 7am. NO. #2. My kid is in the first grade. They have a special test for all 1st grades all over the country they said, my kid score in the lower 30th percent of all who took the test. I ask the home room teacher and she said he is doing good and not felling and told me that all test concerns are handle by the VP. So I when to the office to talk to the VP. I told her my concerns of my kid who score very low compare to rest of the country. I ask her how did the school place over all on the test where my child places in the lower 30%. She told me she doesn t know. When the one of top in charge of the school said that, they are either holding back info or incompetent or both. Do your own research.

My daughters teacher Mrs Phillips is so nice and caring. The only thing I didn't like was the counseling.Parent Review1mo ago - Golden Acres Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI GREW TO LOVE THE SCHOOL. AT FIRST WHEN MY CHILD ATTENDED IN PRE K, I GOT A PHONE CALL EVERYDAY OR EVERY OTHER DAY. KINDER WAS A WHOLE LOT BETTER. THE DUFFEREBCE WAS MY CHILD SEEN THE DIFFERENCE HIS TEACHER MADE WITHIN THE CLASS ND ACTED OUT. HE FELT AS IF THE TEACHER DIDNT LIKE HIM. I AS A PARENT WAS NOT NOTIFIED WHEN THE CLASS/SCHOOL WOULD DO SOMETHING SPECIAL AND HE WOULD BE ONE OF THE FEW STUDENTS THAT WOULDNT PARTICIPATE, SO HE FELT LEFT OUT. ONCE I GOT THE HINT OF WHAT WAS GOING ON, SCHOOL WAS ALMOST OUT. 1ST GRADE MY BABY DID ABOVE AND BEYOND. HE PARTICIPATED IN ALMOST EVERYTHING AND I HAD MAYBE 2 TO 3 PHONE CALLS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE YEAR. PLUS HE GOT STUDEBT OF THE MONTH LAST YEAR AND THIS YEAR. SO, IT IS SHOWING HIS PRE-K TEACHER DID NOT LIKE MY BABY!!!!! IM COOL WIT IT THO CAUSE GOD GOT US!!!!! IT WAS THE TEACHER NOT THE SCHOOL. I LOVE JENSEN!!! LETS SEE HOW 2ND GRADE GO!!!!!! I ALSO CAME TO THE CONCLUSION, THAT IF WE PARTICIPATE AS PARENTS, YOUR CHILD WILL BE MORE HAPPY WITHIN THEIR SOULS, AT LEAST MINE IS. EVEN THOUGH MY BABY ISNT PERFECT, AND IT WAS A FEW INSTANCES WITH HIM AND OTHER STUDENTS, HE STILL MAINTAINED A GREAAAT ATTITUDE AND POSITIVE MINDSET!!!THE SCHOOL ITSELF, CONSTANTLY HAVE ACTVITIES INCLUDING PARENTS AS WELL. FOR INSTANCES FATHER/DAUGHTER DANCES, MOTHER/SON DANCE, WHICH WAS A FIRST, BUT ONCE ENOUGH MOTHERS STARTED TO BE VOCAL, THEY HEARD US AND MADE IT HAPPEN!!! I LOVE THIS!!!! THE DISCIPLINE AT THE SCHOOL I FEEL IS APPROPIATE FOR THE AGES OF OUR BABIES, IF IT'S NOT FAIR TO SOME PARENTS, THEN IT HAVE TO BE SOMETHING ELSE GOING ON CAUSE THEY TRY TO BE AS FAIF AS POSSIBLE, I BE WATCHING WHEN THEY THINK I DON'T!!!THEN THE PRE-K TEACHER FORCED MY CHILD TO DO HIS WORK WITH THE CRAYONS HE BROKE UP THAT I BOUGHT!!! I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THAT BECAUSE MY CHILD FINGERS WAS HURTING, AND IF I BOUGHT A MILLION OF THEM AND HE BROKE ALL BUT ONE, GIVE HIM THAT LAST ONE, YOU AIN'T BUY NOTHING, GIVE MY BABY HIS STUFF THAT HIS MAMA BOUGHT!!! OTHER THAN PRE-K HE'S MASTERING THIS THING CALLED ELEMENTARY!!!! THANKS JENSEN FOR THE PATIENCE AND CONCERNS WITH ALL OUR CHILDREN!!!!!!!Parent Review10mo ago - Teague Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is the absolute worst. I don’t recommend bringing your child to this school. The front office staff is rude and unwelcoming. College Park is unorganized and it needs structure. The curriculum is absolutely terrible! On top of that, they have the worst bilingual program. This district should really consider removing the bilingual program since they obviously don’t care about it.Parent Review5mo ago - First Baptist Christian Academy
