Read what parents are saying about Bear Creek Intermediate SchoolLeadership at this school is very sketchy. We rarely saw the principal out and about. Always the VPs. One VP in particular made me want to remove my child from this school (which we did) and left the district. We moved here from out of state and my child had problems making any friends. Felt horrible for them, but it was not a friendly place for us.
Posted by a parent on 3/9/2023Our son loves the school. The teachers care about the students and support them in achieving their goals.

Posted by a parent on 5/29/2022I do not recommend this school to anyone. The teachers do not teach in any of the core classes like math, English, subjects. It's expected that the students know what and how to do the assignments. The motto on the KISD website says it all, " Intentionally Exceptional". Very egotistic. The science and social studies classes, seem to go ok. The way that the school provides instructions on the papers is very poor. So, no wonder the kids struggle here. Communication is at best a struggle with the school. Bullying to include verbal and physical, has been a big problem at this school, and only until it's brought to the school's attention, did they take notice, and take any corrective action. So, what actually is being monitored on a daily basis, in this school, comes into question. The STARR test seems to be the biggest concern at this school, like all of them. The state standard is all they seem to be concerned with. Only until an assignment is missing do the teachers reach out to you, and by then, its too late, your child is going to get a marked down grade, but hey as long as they do good on the STARR test, all is looking good for them, by the state. The fact that the school uses Google, a free site to post assignments, Aeries to post grades and assignments, and an assortment of apps, makes it difficult to track assignments. Assignments don't have the same name on the different platforms, and they aren't numbered so as to quickly navigate from one platform to another, to find the actual assignment. Very dysfunctional and disorganized. ALso, the process to find assignments, is not very consistent, and they only give a couple of days from the time the assignment is posted, and when its due to be completed.
Posted by a parent on 2/15/2022My child is having a rough time at BCIS. Teachers do not assist with classmates bullying each other nor do they control the inappropriate conversations 10 year old students have in class. I was excited for my daughter to attend the same school I attended but it is nothing like it used to be. Their biggest concern is to push testing scores for academic recognition rather than putting the children first. It's not the same and it is very disappointing to me. I hope to find a new home in a different district because KISD is not a district I would ever recommend to anyone. She came from a Birdville school and regret ever moving from that district. If you want normalcy for your children and a positive environment, this is not the school for them. This review saddens me because I loved this school when I was young.

If you want the best of the best as your child's teacher request Mrs. Falcon she is a true professional of 22 years of loving, nurturing, caring, & educating our children. She calls all of the class her babies & loves them as only a mother could. So blessed to have her in my son's life. I trust & love Mrs. Falcon & never worry like in the kinder grades. Full trust & confidence of the parents is important & we have it in her. She always keeps us informed by phone calls and emails & parent letters. She even calls about the little things to add to the comfort of being a worried clingy parent mommy like me. This is my sons most positive best experience in school so far. I enjoyed volunteering in the classroom & even got to sit in Mrs. Falcon's comfy black chair. She is on her feet teaching all day educating our future. It is obvious teaching children is her life & comes naturally. Next year get down to registration & reserve a seat in Mrs. Falcon's classroom. Promise you will love her. We love us sum Mrs. Falcon & she is all my son talks about even on the weekends. He adores his pretty teacher. He has learned so much and grown as a student. Bless Mrs. Falcon this year almost her entire class was boys & maybe 3 girls. I ask Mr. Roub why the imbalance of students he never called me back. Oh well I guess not all Superhero's wear capes. Mrs. Falcon is simply the best of the best. My little girl is up for 1st grade next year, we are going to have our Mrs. Falcon another year in a row. God Bless awesome teachers that actually do exist.Parent Review2y ago - Hidden Lakes Elementary School

My daughter can be a strong willed child, but she loves going to school and has grown so much this year! The principal is at every school event and the kids all love to run over and give him a high five. My daughter thinks he is pretty awesome! All of her cocur teachers have worked hard to keep the kids in gaged, with a SOAR attitude. I am truly grateful for the staff and community of Freedom Elementary.Parent Review1y ago - Shady Grove Elementary School

There are students from different ethnicities and also it has a great program to include students with disabilities. I got involved in the PTA, this allowed me to take a closer look at the Administrators and staff. They are all super engaged and genuinely care for the students. Overall I am extremely pleased (as foreigner) adapting to the school system.Parent Review7mo ago - St Elizabeth Ann Seton School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe had always wanted our kids to attend private Christian school and were so excited when we could finally send them. We expected a warm, welcoming environment where our kids would be encouraged in their faith as well as challenged academically. Needless to say, we were in for a rude awakening. Unless your children started with the school from day one, expect for them to have a hard time fitting in. Cliques are worse here because it is such a small school. That includes the parents. If you are a working parent, don't bother signing up for the Parent Team because all meetings are during the day. If your child has any kind of learning disability, this is not the place for you. Accommodations are not offered. We discovered that academically, our kids were doing very remedial work that was a year or more beneath their grade level. Not all teachers are certified and some have no experience in their subject matter at all. One example of many, our kids were going through the One Year Bible and journaling for math grades in Pre-Algebra. As far as being challenged in their faith, my children - who have been raised in church their whole lives - walked away from the experience not wanting anything to do with people who call themselves "Christians" because certain administrators, teachers, and students were so mean and judgmental. It was an extremely disappointing experience and not at all what we expected.Parent Review1y ago - Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur children have attended MLCA Keller and the Messiah Lutheran preschool for over the past six years, we love the small class sizes and all the teachers and staff. The classical education, presented with a Christian worldview, has given them a strong Christian grounding to prepare them for the world. The school environment is safe and very cheerful, our children have played, Soccer, Archery, Volleyball, and Basketball. If you're serious about educating your children in a solid Christian education, there is no better choice available.Parent Review7mo ago
