Read what parents are saying about Kaufman High SchoolThis school caters to the poor Hispanic population. Even though I pay $10,000 a year in school taxes I will pay out of pocket for my kids to go to a nearby school. Please be warned this school is complete trash and will not provide your child with any of the tools needed to succeed in the current or future job market. They have a dress code that teaches your child not to take pride in their appearance and to not express themselves. Instead of investing in STEMS the high school has invested in a "culinary program" (short order cook) which means they can effectively teach your child to work in a fast food kitchen. A high school culinary program will not get your child a job at a reputable restaurant where they will be able to support themselves. They have lowered their academic standards to help pus through the ESL students, this is terrible.
Posted by a parent on 8/29/2018I think for its size it is one of the best high schools in the area, the Principal is a strong leader and the kids and the education process first. I wish every one would get off of the dress code issue, there is a real reason for it. First and foremost is equal education with no distractions. It is just part of the education process for life, following rules, what about our great men and women in the military do they follow a dress code, I hear no one saying anything about them. So give the school a chance to do whats best for all students. Thanks for a great job.
Posted by a parent on 7/9/2011We are new to the area and my daughter's gades have improved she likes most of the teachers that she has.I believe the dress code that the school has s a good thing. The school in my opinion is a much better than the school she attended in Pennsylvania.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience is limited as I am the grandmother of the student. My observation is based on almost a daily basis. Learning skills improved and the classroom seemed to encourage a pleasant learning atmosphere. I also want to address that if you are new to the community that acceptance is not the norm. Most of the students have studied and worshiped together since kindergarten. Having been a big supporter for fundraisers, dinners, and programs I can tell you only a few parents and no teachers were interested in who l was or my family. As the year progressed in all fairness COVID impacted the classroom experience. Finally after purchases were made (a computer) in anticipation of going to the sixth grade after a 4 hour assessment my grandchild was told he would not be entering the sixth grade. The reason given was his maturity level. He still needs supervision. Maybe so .but to be abruptly told more or less go elsewhere after a4 hour assessment smacks of anything but a Christian School. Is it not the teacher’s roll to instruct and give parent’s feedback? I find it interesting that the students that have studied and worshiped to together had no problems entering six grade. As for my family they are looking for a Christian school that will be a good fit for a bright child.Other Review3y ago
