A G Elder Elementary School

This is the first year my daughter has gone to this school. So for a child, being the new kid is hard enough but, on top of it she started being bullied by another group of students starting from DAY TWO. Just like the other review states, I have gone to the teachers and have been told “I don’t hear anything” or “she needs to be the one to report it” . They won’t even listen unless the student comes forward immediately and even after that, I’m told “we will just move seats”. It is now towards the end of the year and my daughter continues to come home upset daily. Secondly, the teachers my daughter has are really no different than the students (in regards to how they treat her). They have no problem singling her out, YELLING at her in front of her peers and saying very unprofessional personal things to her. I have requested an in person parent/teacher conference (in regards to academics and classroom behavior) since September and have been told by the teacher that they will only do a phone call. Which has yet to happen. My daughter has never missed a day of school for anything other than true illness. She actually wakes up in the morning complaining that her stomach is twisting. This is now effecting her physically as well as emotionally. On top of everything else, they only get 1 recess during a long day and if they do anything out of the norm (minor kid stuff) they loose their recess. I want my daughter to enjoy school and be a kid as long as she can. These teachers need to be held accountable PERIOD.I can’t wait for this school year to be over AND THATS PRETTY SAD

We have been a part of this school for four years. Both children with disabilities. Yiu have to fight for your childrens rights at this school. Keep documentation of all questions asked. We had to call TEA and they were found guilty and made to take retraining and make time.uo.

There is so much engagement with families from this school which makes sending our new student all the more at ease! Thank you NJE for making this transition so seamless!

AMAZING SCHOOL!Very caring, loving supportive teachers.They won't treat children like test taking robots.The teachers here actually care about the children as individuals and support every child and each other.

I am a public school teacher, but I have always enrolled my children in JAMS until this year. My daughter is enrolled in a public middle school and very frustrated with the lack of academic and social opportunities she is used to having at JAMS.

This is my daughters 2nd year at JCA. The staff is amazing, understanding and works with parents to further education. The curriculum is top notch.
