Sheldon Lake Elementary School

My son comes from HISD he finished off pre k knowing all his letters, letter sounds, and numbers up to 50. He can add and subtract single digit equations. He could also reas 2 letter words. All of this in pre-k at HISD! We then Move him to this school for kindergarten and he comes home telling they learning letter sounds only and they’ll stay on the same letter for days. My son says it’s super easy, and he gets bored. I don’t think the kids are being challenged enough here.

As Head of School, I am extremely proud of our community. HTES is a people place where building relationships with students and partnerships with families is at the core of the learning experience. Small classes allow us to get to know every student as an individual. We are also excited for our campus design project and the work we are doing to transform the Lake Houston Area one child at a time.
