I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to share how much WUES has done for my children-TLDR: WUES is an outstanding school with a strong community. Whether you value academics, safety, or connection, WUES delivers on all fronts. Academically, WUES is second to none. The teachers and principal are deeply involved, and thanks to generous PTO support, students benefit from learning tools and technology that many schools can’t offer. While the workload is rigorous, students are often better prepared for junior high than even those from top private primary schools.In terms of safety, the school is on the same block as two police departments and a fire station, which offers an unmatched peace of mind.Finally, what truly sets WUES apart for my family is the community. The parent involvement and PTO here is unmatched. Parents and teachers go above and beyond to create meaningful opportunities for kids to connect—whether through afterschool clubs, enrichment programs, or fun events (there's soo many!). The student body is diverse, thanks in part to the school's location, and that diversity is celebrated and embraced. The school also emphasizes character development through a positive behavior program that teaches and rewards kindness and respect. When we first moved to the neighborhood, I was in awe by how polite and respectful the children were—and I truly believe the school plays a big role in shaping that culture.All to say this school is truly a gem.

(I was a student at this school)This school was fun and their teaching is very good,and they had a lot of fun activites, and a lot of them included the childs family, but the students are racist and the teachers dont seem to care they dont really do anything about the racist comments or bulling, also they did not treat my brother well,and labled him as "Artistic" but as soon as he went to another school he was acing all his classes and getting honor roll,so overall i would say this school is okay.

The school has great potential, but it just falls short on anything beyond average. We liked that the school was small, but it's just because they consistently can't meet enrollment. I was embarassed after neighbor visited and said it seemed" sad, drab and uninviting. This is actually quite accurate. Teachers are ok, but not dynamic or extraordinary. The campus is old and unsafely spread out. There is a high turnover of staff and students. The newest administration is not knowledgeable about Montessori and seems to be there more for himself and career rather than passionate about the philosophy. We were so excited about the possibilities, but It has fallen short in nearly every area. We will be one of the many moving on.

This school is designed to train white privileged obedient students, not emotionally resilient future leaders. We are immigrant families that experienced unsaid discrimination. They only care about easy management and money, not educating my kids. Not recommended.
