I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to share how much WUES has done for my children-TLDR: WUES is an outstanding school with a strong community. Whether you value academics, safety, or connection, WUES delivers on all fronts. Academically, WUES is second to none. The teachers and principal are deeply involved, and thanks to generous PTO support, students benefit from learning tools and technology that many schools can’t offer. While the workload is rigorous, students are often better prepared for junior high than even those from top private primary schools.In terms of safety, the school is on the same block as two police departments and a fire station, which offers an unmatched peace of mind.Finally, what truly sets WUES apart for my family is the community. The parent involvement and PTO here is unmatched. Parents and teachers go above and beyond to create meaningful opportunities for kids to connect—whether through afterschool clubs, enrichment programs, or fun events (there's soo many!). The student body is diverse, thanks in part to the school's location, and that diversity is celebrated and embraced. The school also emphasizes character development through a positive behavior program that teaches and rewards kindness and respect. When we first moved to the neighborhood, I was in awe by how polite and respectful the children were—and I truly believe the school plays a big role in shaping that culture.All to say this school is truly a gem.

This school is designed to train white privileged obedient students, not emotionally resilient future leaders. We are immigrant families that experienced unsaid discrimination. They only care about easy management and money, not educating my kids. Not recommended.

I strongly disagreed with many St. Anne reviews here and was quite frankly shocked, so I felt obliged to pen a review. My kids are actually happy to go to school!I am incredibly pleased with my experience at St. Anne, where all three of my children are enrolled. St. Anne excels in so many areas, and it has been a wonderful place for my kids to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. First and foremost, the academic program is outstanding. The dedicated teachers work hard to provide a challenging yet nurturing environment. The school offers solid resources, including updated textbooks, technology, and enrichment programs that help each child reach their full potential. I feel confident knowing that my children are getting a high-quality education that will set them up for success in the future.The religious foundation is another key aspect that makes this school special. The Catholic values are woven into daily life, and my children have had the opportunity to grow in their faith through prayer, Mass, and service projects. It's clear that the school is committed to nurturing both the intellectual and spiritual growth of its students, which is a top priority for our family.The school also has a strong culture of kindness and respect. The staff fosters an environment of inclusivity where each child feels valued and supported. This sense of community extends beyond the classroom and creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students and parents. We feel safe and secure knowing the school has strong protocols to ensure everyone's safety and well-being.The school has nice facilities. The classrooms are well-equipped and spacious, and plenty of outdoor areas for children to play and explore. The school also invests in maintaining clean, modern spaces, which adds to the overall positive experience.As for athletics, while the sports programs have not been the school's strongest suit in the past, but there is a new athletic director this year, and we are hopeful for improvements in this area. The food could also be improved, but as with any school, there are drawbacks, and issues occasionally arise, but the school generally addresses most issues. Overall, St. Anne has been a wonderful choice for our family, and I am so grateful for the excellent education, strong sense of community, and faith-filled environment it provides. I highly recommend it to any family looking for a supportive, well-rounded educational experience for their children.

St. Michael Catholic School consistently fails at every possible measure of a quality private school. As everything does, it comes down to leadership. The current Head of School has demonstrated inadequate leadership skills and has not fostered a nurturing or effective learning environment. She seems to not care much for children. Or parents. Or feedback. She should have been fired a long time ago. Unfortunately, neither the current nor previous priests associated with the parish have shown meaningful involvement in the school’s spiritual or academic development. It is so disappointing that the Diocese, under Cardinal DiNardo’s oversight, has allowed this school to flounder, ultimately to the detriment of the students. Safe and Supportive Environment / Positive School Culture: The school has failed to establish a safe and respectful environment. Despite the values expected of a Catholic institution, there is no emphasis on teaching or enforcing respect, responsibility, and ethical behavior among students, toward one another. Bullying is rampant and not addressed. They have the opposite of a “zero tolerance” policy on bullying. There is no consistent or effective anti-bullying policy in place, and the school does not take a proactive role in teaching students compassion or inclusivity. Families with children who may not conform to narrow expectations may find the school especially unaccommodating.Dedicated Teachers and Staff: FAIL. While there may be dedicated individuals within the school, our experience suggests a general lack of engagement and communication from teachers. Throughout our children's time at St. Michael, teachers did not initiate any meaningful contact, even when academic struggles were apparent, which most students have from time to time. When we reached out for support, responses were minimal and unhelpful. Access to learning materials was extremely limited, and the Parent-Teacher conferences are a LITERAL joke. You get 180 seconds of your child’s teacher’s time for every class, once per year, with no conversation of any substance at all regarding how your child is actually doing. Which leads to the next one…Communication and Collaboration with Parents: Communication between the school and parents is notably lacking. Productive, two-way collaboration is essential for student success, yet St. Michael has shown little effort in fostering this connection. The environment is neither communicative nor collaborative.
