La escuela es perfecta les recomiendo demasiado esta escuela ya que los profesores y maestras se aseguran de mantener ALOS estudiantes enfocados no son muy estrictos pero son muy divertidos.

This information is outdated. Burrus Elementary, now proudly rated a B+ school, is far from what it used to be. The culture has dramatically shifted, and the results are clear—STAAR scores are even stronger than last year, and students are thriving in a more focused, supportive environment.Under the steady and visionary leadership of Principal Williams, Burrus has made consistent year-over-year progress. The campus feels different—in the best way. Expectations are higher, relationships are stronger, and there’s a renewed sense of pride and purpose in every hallway and classroom.Burrus is no longer the school it once was. It’s a school on the rise—and it shows.

Dr. Clark/Vale is a horrible leader who does not communicate properly with parents. There has been many instances where bullying, inappropriateness, or threats have been made and she handled every situation poorly. I emailed her a few times as a concerned parent and she would never answer my questions and instead just beat around the bush. Also parent involvement is practically non existent. We were not allowed to walk our children to class or be in the classroom for special days. I’ve never been to a school that limits each student to two adults attending performances. We got lucky with two out of three great teachers from our time there. Also when asked about the special education program, the staff knew nothing. My questions were answered poorly and it terrified me to enter my nonverbal child.

The sense of community among students is great. And I really love that. I knock it down a star just because I feel teachers could be more engaged with parents on a one-on-one level to really hone in on how to make our kids flourish. I do understand that teachers are spread very thin, but I do feel like more attention to each student by means of the parents would help so much more. But it takes actually meeting with parents. We had a zoom session that was 15 minutes… and it seemed so forced for the teacher. No desire to connect with me, the parent. Again, this is my only gripe and teacher is still great to my little. All in all, it’s a wonderful school and I hope to keep my child here!

I don't like Helms elementary school, my child went there for one school year. All they do is speak Spanish. It's supposed to be dual language. They mostly speak Spanish, my child is black, she never wanted to go to school. She said the kids didn't play with her. What really upset me was, they never did any Black History programs, but they did everything the Hispanic people celebrated. I have nothing against Hispanic people or their heritage. They just need to include other races heritage too. Please speak English and Spanish, this is America and English I out language. It's okay to do both equally. To any parents out there, who wants to send your kids here. PLEASE DON'T!!!....

My child was injured by a teacher at Jefferson Early Learning Center. he is able to clearly explain how he was pinched on his shoulder and at his throat. he is 4yo!!! The principal has refused several requests for a sit down, and the assistant principal promised follow up that just never came. we have no choice but to trust our babies will be safe at school. The lack of accountability or concern for what happened to my son should be concerning to any parent considering this place.
