Allen Aldridge Jr. Elementary School

Briargate is a good school but the students are bad, or at least some of them are. This school has had so many fights, and especially 5th grade, which is the grade I'm in right now, they tell each others business and that starts fights or they talk about each other to just their friends and the other person hears it and they fight or they pick fights in front of everyone. The students will never or couldn't care for any lesson taught unless it is a challenge or something fun, this school is just something else but from a students perspective who everyone can trust and has never gotten in trouble before, this school is very nice and funny. Once a teacher made her students walk the halls and everyone was crying but one teacher stood up to her but the teacher wasn't fired, (by the way, the teacher had them walking for at least 2 hours when the other teacher confronted her).

My experience at this school was absolutely AWESOME!! This school was not only a place of employment, but it was a close nit family oriented school within the community and among the staff. This school makes me feel like the sitcom "CHEERS" I wanna goooo where everyone knows my name. The staff is so loving and understanding as well as knowledgeable. We achieved so much more because we worked together on one accord to accomplish the tasks at hand. Mrs. Kiser is an impactful leader whom motivates the students to strive for success daily. Mrs. Moore is a great listener, and great teacher in which she continues to bring joy in the classroom. I really appreciate Ms. RAYFORD for the inspiration and motivation that shed light into my situations. She motivates students, and encourages them while bringing excitement to the classroom. Nurse Dones is very sincere, trustworthy and hard working nurse who is great at what she does. The ancillary team are AMAZING!!!!! I want to give a shout out to Coach Cornell, Ms. Blackwell, Mrs. Simmons, annnnd MR. Makoge for all the hard work and dedication they pour out! They made my day enjoyable ALL THROUGHOUT THE DAY! Ms. A in PALS class for having the ideal model classroom setup showing education in motion. There are so many things I can talk about, but most people forget those small things that really matters. I am thankful for the journey I experienced at Grissom. They always will be my Grissom family.

The school itself is great but the school does LITTLE about bullying. They punish the children BEING bullied as opposed to children doing the BULLING. I understand bullys are everywhere and kids are kids but as a parent coming with receipts about the incident and still nothing from the other parents, I now how to go to extreme measures just to get a point across.

My experience at Excel was not very great. The first year I was there. I felt like I was really learning something I was excelling. I was doing really good and my grades and then teachers were leaving. They couldn’t find teachers, but they couldn’t find staff people were always leaving and whenever they bring new teachers, it just seemed like the education was getting worse. They were bringing teachers who didn’t know how to teach. We’re just teaching us out of textbooks for pretty much the whole year of my eighth grade Year. We were only learning from textbooks. Our teacher would give us paper assignment and tell us to go find the like an answer to his questions and I feel like as I am as as when you’re transitioning from eighth grade to ninth grade, there’s a lot that you need to learn the principle and homeroom teacher were constantly telling us how we were behind yet it never felt like they were actually doing anything to get us ahead to where we need to be so that way eighth graders were ready to transition to the ninth grade. I feel like the principal was very rude. It never felt like a positive environment around her. She just felt like a ball of negative energy and that never made me feel comfortable around her. The teacher was OK sometimes that he would threaten other students and I feel like that’s just a big no and the fact that the principal never did anything about it was a huge issue and again my first year Excel was amazing. I loved it but again I used one by seeing that it almost felt like they were just hiring people and they weren’t hiring people who liked kids from what I know our principal and teachers seem like they hated us, but they didn’t want to be around us and this is like you know, being the older kids speaking from like the older kids perspective she wouldn’t let us have any sort of parties. She wouldn’t let us have a Christmas party while everyone else would she wouldn’t let us do things that she wouldn’t let us like at the end of the year. She wanted to allow us to have any fun. It seems like she restricted us of a lot of things during robotics. We were trying really really hard to work and it felt like all we wanted to do was do robotics and we would ask them constantly. Can we have time for robotics and they denies us saying that we need to do math or to ketchup with this yet even while we were doing it, we weren’t learning anything so in general my experience wasn’t the best I won’t recommend this school until it gets bett
