The Principal, Mrs. Grimes, is outstanding. The first thing I noticed was how many students’ names she knows. She might know every student’s name at Peterson. Lots of teachers live nearby and are invested in our kids. There are several exceptional teachers as well. Definitely one of the best elementary schools in NISD.

This school had almost a complete turnover of staff and leadership beginning with Aug of 2023, so do not let old reviews worry you. My kids have gone there so far from PreK to 1st grades and everyone is great and cares about them and their success! All their teachers have cared, taught them well, and communicated well with parents. They work hard to make school fun and educational.

We are no longer overloaded with needless busywork on concepts which have already been mastered. Our children are happy, thriving, and able to advance faster academically now that they’re no longer limited by the confines of the monotonous and outdated traditional educational model. We have time for sports and extra-curricular activities, and we can eat dinner together again!”

The school works in a way that can benefit themselves, if a kid doesn’t listen, they’ll stop that kid from having their full learning experience. Do not take your kid here for the sake of your mental health.
