Muy mala experiencia tuve que sacar a mi hija por que las maestras la maltrataban y la hacían llorar todo el tiempo y mi hija ya no quería ir Tengo pruebas

My daughter just finished 5th grade and is moving on but our experience here was amazing. This is a fine arts academy and also a neighborhood school and the standards are high. The parents families are engaged. It is a nice newer facility. The area is an older mostly Hispanic area. We actually do not live in that neighborhood we brought her in from another part of town. The real difference is the excellent caring teachers this school has. We will miss going here.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever encountered with a school I have to take my child to everyday. No parent wants to feel like it’s a waste of time. My son is deaf in one ear and wasn’t getting the proper care, attention or education that he NEEDED being at Marshall. Not to mention, secretary staff ARE RUDE for no reason.We would ask for homework to be sent home, update us on how he’s doing in class, let us know exactly what he needs to work on and most of the time neither one of his teachers would respond to messages…literally would only send me a message if he got in trouble and they wanted me to talk to him. IEP, or ARD is what they call it here, teachers were fantastic. They updated me…kept me in the loop and made sure my son was getting what he could the time he was there.I had a rebuttal for one thing the main teachers said about my child that I knew wasn’t true during an IEP meeting and everything was downhill from there.I will never recommend this school to anyone especially if they need extra help.

Fui a la oficina a firmar un documento de mi hijo y cuando sali de la oficina le dije a mi hijo que nos fuéramos. Mi hijo agarró par de legos y en ese instante una señora que estaba en un escritorio le dijo que esos legos no eran de él que ahí los dejara. Cuando salimos me acordé que yo le había comprado unos legos hacia par de días. Volví a casa y efectivamente si eran los mismos que la señora le quitó a mi hijo. Tuve que volver con resibo en mano a por los juguetes de mi hijo. Me dio demasiado coraje porque esa señora no tuvo el tacto de lidiar con un niño fue nadamas como para acusarlo y hacerlo sentir mal. Esta escuela carece de buenos líderes, todos en esa escuela tienen tendencias a dar órdenes gritando. Creo que están impuestos a tratar a los padres como les da la gana y que nadie les diga nada.

My child has gone through pre-k-6th grade at Johns. The last few years have completely shifted. Im not sure if its admin or just the teachers/staff but no one seems to understand the parents view only the "rules" they are suppose to follow with guidlines. My child I feel has been shut down and ignored causes behavior issues and acting out. I have had mulitple meetings with staff and nothing is ever set in stone to make my child feel safe to talk to someone at school. He is constanstly being told about his hair texture from teachers and "why does your mom not put any product" in your hair. And things about his apperance. They always only send things to parents in spanish and not in english. I am constantly asking to have my son bring home stuff in ENGLISH! I am all for the school being bi-lingual but it seems they only award and take care of the "hispanic" kids and not the black kids. I am so overwhelmed with the lack of support I have recieved through-out the last few years. I will never recommend this school to anyone now or in the future!

To express my serious concerns regarding the environment It has become evident that there is ongoing harassment and mistreatment directed toward Black students within the institution.Despite these issues being brought to light, the administration has failed to take appropriate action. There have been instances where racial slurs are used, yet the principal and assistant principal have refused to address these incidents or foster an environment where children can learn and grow safely. Furthermore, the behavior of certain groups within the school is deeply concerning.I strongly advise against enrolling children in this environment, as the current leadership and specific groups occupying the school do not demonstrate the necessary care or respect for all students.
