Read what parents are saying about SatoriSMALL CLASSES-BIG IDEAS is exactly what Satori is all about. If you haven't seen Satori lately, NOW IS THE TIME. The director is superb and the children are so kind and supportive of one another! The atmosphere, where creativity and thinking outside of the box is welcomed, makes the learning fun. I also love the fact that, in addition to PE twice a week, they still have free play recess daily. I must say congratulations to Satori's students for winning the state and national primary class of the year from the National Energy Education Developmnet (NEED) last year. This year all of the 4th graders scored high enough on their SAT test to quailify for the DUKE University Talent Search Program. Way to go SATORI FLYERS!!! Check out their web site @ www.satorischool.net for more information.
Posted by a parent on 3/28/2012Small Classes-Big Ideas is Satori's motto. With an enrollment of 35 kids total ages K-6th grade there is plenty of one on one student/teacher interaction. Students learn by studying "real world" integrated curriculum and hands on learning. Emphasis is on Math, Science, Language Arts, Music, Spanish, and Art. Small group projects in a multi age setting allows the children to communicate, interact, and grow in a safe family like environment. Free piano lessons are offered in the afterschool setting and also Drama classes with a small fee. The school director is a life long educator with a HUGE love for children. Teachers pay special attention to each child's specific primary learning style. The school is considered a parent co-op so the parents are always welcome in the school and share in the responsibilities of fund raising, field trips, etc. Satori just celebrated 30 yrs of teaching on Galveston Island and has turned out many students who have gone on to be valedictorians, salutorians, entrepeneurs, business leaders, fine artists, and most of all fine citizens. I have been familiar with Satori for the past 18 years, known students, teachers, and now my son attends.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are some great things at this school. The majority of teachers really care about their students and provide a strong educational foundation. However , the administration , particularly the superintendent ignores issues , rather brushing them under the rug for appearance sake. Including when it is reported a teacher is mistreating students. Teachers are overworked and taken advantage of to add another “checkmark” on the list of what is done. That said , the teachers here really care about the kids to be able to work here. So for many kids it is a very positive experience.Teacher Review2y ago - Ambassadors Preparatory Academy

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has been at this school for four years now and we have never had a problem that was not addressed immediately and or resolved. This school has awesome teachers and students, my daughter has learned quite well for her age. And though we had part remote learning last yeart and will have some this new 2021 school year that I truly believe that my daughter will fall right in place for her grade this year due to her excelling prior to this pandemic. I will definitely send my child to this school.Parent Review3y ago - Morgan Elementary Magnet School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey emphasize and promote intensive teaching with competent teachers who promote a culture of learning and development mostly due to the compensation the school receives when the students perform on state tests.. This a positive in every way where all the students and the school benefits...If they didn't have an incentive, this school would perform at average or below standards due to the the area which is economicly disadvantaged and where English is a second language for many if not he majority...I applaud the state for setting the school up this way...it is a win win for all of its students regardless of their background....Parent Review9y ago - East End Preschool

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTo be quite honest, we were really nervous to send our son there. He had never stayed with a non-family member and now we were going to send him to daycare. Let me tell you, we could not be happier. The staff there truly love the kids. I'm constantly in awe of how they're able to manage and keep smiles on their faces. Our son is so spoiled and loved. Since starting EEP, he's really come out of his shell. The school is student focused and family centered. There are opportunities to get to know more families, my son has a great little group of friends, and the staff is so awesome. The hours can be a concern, but we do early drop off and extended day, which means that he's there from 7:45-3pm, which is pretty much a school day. If those hours work for you, DO IT. You definitely won't regret sending your kid(s) there.Parent Review5y ago - Burnet Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is no longer Kipp Coastal Village. The school is Rosenberg Elementary with new administration and a dynamic teaching team. They are a micro society campus and my children are thriving there. The teachers give a lot of love and support, the campus culture encourages and practices inclusion for all students, and everyone on that campus works together to give students the best opportunities possible. If you haven’t seen a micro society campus in action, it’s adorable! More importantly you can see the impact it has on students. The execution of the program is character building. I love that all student have a job, student voice is valued, and students understand and experience what it means when we teach them that everyone is a valued member in the community. If you are new to Galveston or thinking about sending your student to one of the public schools on the island, schedule a visit, you won’t be disappointed.Parent Review2y ago - Satori School
