I agree that Good Shepherd is one of Friendswood's best kept secrets. My oldest has attended for two years and I have another one starting next year. The director and the teachers are amazing - they are so warm, nurturing, and caring. I feel that the education is well-rounded. My four-year old comes

But from my own experience (having 3 siblings go here) I would be happy to have my own children go to school here. The teachers are always positive! The staff is amazing! It’s a great school that my family loves.Parent Review10mo ago8 Reviews - Wedgewood Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my kids attended Landolt Elementary and it is one of the best schools in the district. The teachers and parents are always engaged and they provide so much support for the students. We have gone to so many different after school activities such as the carnival, movie nights, etc and there is so many parents there with their students.Parent Review1y ago16 Reviews - C W Cline Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile the school does a good job in areas like safety and student support, the policies around family involvement are extremely restrictive and disappointing. Parents and family members are not allowed to attend events such as field day, classroom parties, or even field trips unless they sign up as volunteers and even then, only one parent is permitted.I understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment, but this level of limitation feels excessive and takes away from important family moments. School events are meant to be opportunities for families to engage, support their children, and be part of their experience. Restricting siblings and additional family members from attending makes the environment feel less welcoming and inclusive. This is the first school I’ve encountered with such strict rules regarding family participation, and it significantly impacts the overall sense of community. I hope the administration considers finding a better balance between safety and allowing families to be present and involved in their children’s school life.Parent Review1mo ago6 Reviews - Westwood Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorst school I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. The staff comes in when ever they feel like it having the parents and children wait on them and leave early, EXTREME ATTITUDE from the staff every one of them are white females whom look at you in disgust for waving hello? Had the front desk woman scold my 4 year old child because he didn’t know where his class was? Then scoffed and said “I guess I’ll have to take you” making my son feel very bad about himself. These people think they are so high and mighty and very pretentious when this is a regular neighborhood.. this isn’t Beverly Hills, get over yourself.another incident with my sons teacher being sarcastic and talking over me and my husband over a simply asking where my sons lunch box was? She looked annoyed and said “well you’re just going to have to wait until ALL the children go home for the day to get that back” ?? Weird response being there’s 5 other teachers and teachers helpers literally standing to the side doing absolutely the staff is low iq , no manners and takes no accountability. I can’t wait to put my child in a better school district Away from these weirdosParent Review7mo ago4 Reviews - Windsong Intermediate School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers were kind and caring, and my daughter really enjoyed her time with them once she settled in. However, the experience with the front office staff was very disappointing. At first, they placed my daughter in the 2-year-old class, but later moved her to the 3-year-old class, saying it would help her learn better. I honestly felt it was more about making room in the 2-year-old class for new enrollments than about what was best for my child.Eventually, they removed my daughter from the program because she wasn’t learning at the level of the older 3-year-olds — even though she’s only 2 and a half. They said my daughter was delayed, so it wasn’t ideal for her to be at their school. But that’s exactly why I chose a private school — smaller classes, more teachers, and better support to help her grow and learn personal skills at her own pace. It felt like they only wanted students who already knew full self-care by 2.5 years old, which is unrealistic for many kids.My daughter cried during the first few days, which is completely normal for a child who’s never been to daycare or school before. According to her teacher, she adjusted quickly and was happy throughout the day. After the July 4th break, she returned and was fine on the first day, but then began crying heavily around nap time and even threw up. The front staff didn’t acknowledge anything might have gone wrong — they insisted she was just crying for no reason. When they called me to pick her up, all of her things were already packed before anyone told me what the decision was. It’s also worth noting that she was only enrolled for the summer, not the fall. I can’t help but feel like they were less patient with her because of that. The teacher herself was always sweet and supportive — she never complained about my daughter. It was only the front office staff who had a problem. I even brought donuts and pizza during the 4 weeks she was there to show appreciation, but sadly, the way things ended was disappointing.Parent Review11mo ago31 Reviews
