Van Zandt Guinn has fallen short in some areas. My child is not being challenged enough. She doesn't bring anything home but spelling words. Her teacher is good but not equipped enough. They are so focused on the kids that are not doing so well they forget about challenging those who are bored.

Great school kids have smiles when leaving and love going to school activities.

My brown skin grandson is experiencing racial disparity as he transition from Tennessee to Texas. He has been targeted by mean Hispanic kids who obviously feel this is their territory. I’m flabbergasted that 8 year old kids are so cruel. I gave 2 stars because the assistant principal at Natha Howell is so sweet to my grandson and is a Caucasian woman. I want to remove him from that school but it’s not my decision.

I called to speak with the principal about getting my child enrolled, and I dont know if i caught her at a bad time, she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or it was her everyday regular foul attitude; but she came off as combative for literally no reason. You would think that being in an education profession, that effective communication, constructive listening, and not talking OVER someone would be a simple concept and learned skill. If our exchange went the way that it did with me asking a SIMPLE question, I couldn't imagine how it would be if a real issue arose during the school year. I think im gonna try my luck at homeschooling next year. Because FWISD as a whole is pure sewer water

This school is a gem! If you are thinking about enrolling your child, think no more. This is by far the best thing I've done for my son, and when my daughter is of age she will be attending as well. My kid stands out in a crowd with his confidence, respect for others, he accepted Jesus, and he is very bright. ECS is the best!

Judgement on my daughter. Didn't want to help her. She was having trouble with math and they didn't help her! Overall didn't like her and neglected her in her education. My daughter has nightmares still to this day on how they treated her! She went 5 years ago. I had to pull her out and tell them she is not coming back! She was constantly being picked on and always a target! I'm not surprised it's permanently closed, thank God! No more children have to go thru such treatments!

My older son went there for eighth grade. He had a problem with a kid and the school addressed it immediately. My little guy went for pre-K and his teachers were absolutely phenomenal. He knows more than he supposed to for kindergarten. I love the school, but we moved. And my son’s main teacher at the school when he was in eighth grade still sends me text messages to see how he’s doing. I love the school and love the people.
