Read what parents are saying about St Thomas Aquinas Catholic SchoolSt. Thomas is a great academic school. It has become quite ambitious in expanding its campus at the lower and upper campus. The art program is truly fantastic, probably the best in Dallas for grades 1-8. It really helps sell the school making a beautiful impression. Deeper down, though, the school's ambition and it needs for money though, takes away from the Christian feel of the school in promoting core values and community unity. The school raises on average about $500,000 or more each year. The parents who bring this money at auction rule the roost from their disrespect to staff and other parents. You can expect those at the very top of the school and its church leadership to ignore and delay issues to the favor of those who contribute or facilitate big money coming in.
Posted by a parent on 1/31/2014STA has greatly exceeded my expectations. It is a terrific school. The teachers are so enthusiastic and dedicated. They truly care about every child. My two children both love their teachers and the school. The level of communication is terrific and the administration is highly competent and caring. In addition to strong academics, the school offers great drama, music, art, Spanish, and PE programs. The school community is excellent. The parents are very dedicated and you are made to feel a valued part of the school. We came to STA from a highly rated DISD elementary school and the differences are astounding. I was pretty happy at the public school, but just had no idea how much better the learning and social environment could be until we came here. My kids, although both straight A students in DISD, were behind when they got to STA. We are playing a little catch up, but that is okay. They are making great improvements and are both very happy in their new school environment.
Posted by a parent on 9/2/2012We have three children at STA and are very satisfied with the academics, the strong sense of community among the families, the parent involvement, and the school's effort to instill good values.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE IF THEY HAVE LEARNING DISABILITIES!!!!My child is 4 years old and it's been 6 months into the school year and her teacher has yet to find a way to consol her. Instead the teacher actively overwhelms my child despite her showing signs she can have high anxiety moments and does nothing to help her emotionally. Her teacher doesn't phone me when something is wrong so I have to find out AT THE END OF THE DAY that something went wrong. This school is elitist as it sits in a ridiculous neighborhood full of pompous privileged nimrods. They do nothing but shun those who need extra help and will make sure you know your child is not apart of the community.Parent Review2mo ago - Dan D Rogers Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are in our second year at LMS and it is one of the best decisions we have made for our 3yo son. We love it! The teachers are wonderful and the Montessori environment has helped him to develop his communication, interpersonal skills, independence, and critical thinking skills at his own pace. It is also such a supportive community and we are so happy to have this amazing resource right in our neighborhood!Parent Review7mo ago - St Christophers Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDue to moving, we have been at several different daycares and Pre-K’s. SCMS far exceeds every other program my child has attended. Academically he is thriving in this environment. He loves going to school every day. Every time I come to pick him up, one of his teachers is gently rocking and comforting one of the kiddos singing to them how she loves them and “mommy is coming.” She intuitively knows who’s struggling and supports children’s emotional needs. Isn’t that what we want as parents, someone to love our kids as we would in our absence? I could go on and on, but I am so grateful to SMCS for my son’s educational supports and care. As a former gifted education working at top schools across the state, I truly wouldn’t send him anywhere else. My little guy ended up getting into a well known , top public Montessori Pre-K, which would save me, a single mom by choice, a good hunk of change. I am opting to keep him at SCMS, forgoing his coveted lottery spot. I know I’m not the only other SCMS parent that made the same choice. I think that says it all.Parent Review10mo ago
